We believe the proposed improvements will encourage greater use of alternative transportation modes-walking, cycling and mass transit, reduce reliance on single occupant vehicles, and beautify the entry to the Augusta State University campus. Gateway - signage, landscaping and lighting at gateway to campus at Walton Way and Flaming/Dana Street intersection Landscaping along Walton Way and ASU corridor. . Decorative fence (not to exceed 3') on remains of old Arsenal fence and at areas where fence has been removed. Relocate and build a new bus stop facility with covered seating, lighting, handicap access, and landscaping. Selected landscaping, handicap access. sidewalks, lighting, , bike racks, dedicated street crossings .and streetscape improvements along perimeter of campus where needed. Selected signage: safety. share the road, directional signage, etc. Project categories: Provision of facilities for pedestrians & bicycles, ProYision of safety & educational activities for pedestrians & bicycles, Landscape & other scenic beautification, Historic preservation.
