RESOLUTION
A RESOLUTION TO PROVIDE FOR THE INSTALLATION OF ARTERIAL STREET
LIGHTS FOR THE NEW SAVANNAH ROAD; AND THE ASSESSMENT OF THE
ANNUAL COST OF MAINTAINTING AND OPERATING SAID STREET LIGHTS; TO
PROVIDE FOR THE METHOD AND MANNER FOR FUNDING OF SAID ARTERIAL
STREET LIGHTS, AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES.
WHEREAS, the provisions of 1970 Ga. L., p 1097, gives the Augusta-Richmond County
Commission constitutional authorization to erect, establish, maintain and operate street lights
within the county;
WHEREAS, pursuant to the AUGUSTA, GA CODE S7-3-1 et seq. further empowers the
Augusta-Richmond County Commission to establish street light districts;
WHEREAS, the Augusta-Richmond County Commission resolved to provide funding for
the Arterial and Interstate Light Program through a millage rate to be levied county-wide with a
credit for such cost to be applied to the Urban Tax Districts;
WHEREAS, it is the Augusta-Richmond County Commission's desire to provide the
safest environment possible for its citizens on the public throughways and streets by building,
erecting, establishing, and maintaining all street lights and lamps for the illumination of the
same;
THE AUGUSTA-RICHMOND COUNTY COMMISSION hereby resolves, that
there be created and established within the Augusta-Richmond County Arterial Street
Light District No. 23, which is delineated on the county map system attached hereto; and

Section One: BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the boundaries of the district as enumerated
on said map be established as shown and delineated on said map as full and complete, as if the
full legal description of the courses, distances and boundaries of said district are fully set forth
herein.

Section Two: IT IS ORDERED by the Augusta-Richmond County Commission that the costs
associated with Arterial Street Light District No. _ be founded by the millage currently levied
county-wide, wish a credit for such costs to be applied to the Urban Tax District.
