A RESOLUTION TO AMEND ~ 1.Q ("POLITICAL ACTIVITIES")
OF THE AUGUSTA EMPLOYEE MANUAL
WHEREAS the Augusta-Richmond County Commission desires to give its employees
offering for elective office the option to take his or her accrued vacation time in lieu of an unpaid
leave of absence for all or part of the time the Employee must take a leave of absence;
NOW THEREFORE, Section 1.Q of the Augusta Employee Manual is hereby amended
to add thereto the following paragraph:
In lieu of a leave of absence without pay as hereinbefore required, an employee may
choose to take accrued vacation time for all or part of the period he or she is required to take a
leave of absence under this Section. In the event the employee wins election to an office which
is not considered a full-time office, he or she may continue in his or her employment with
Augusta-Richmond County provided he or she has complied with Section 1.P "Outside
Employment" .
This Amendment is effective on and after October 13,2005.
