RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE PURCHASE OF PROPERTIES
LOCATED AT 1811 1819 CARMICHAEL ROAD
WHEREAS, the Augusta - Richmond County Commission (hereinafter "County" or
"Augusta, Georgia ") has determined it is in the best interest of Augusta, Georgia to purchase
property commonly known as: 1817 Carmichael Road (145 -0- 050 -0 -0) and 1819 Carmichael
Road (145 -0- 049 -00 -0) (the "Property "), from John Gaines and Bobbye Gaines; and
WHEREAS, John Gaines and Bobbye Gaines have offered to sell the Property known as
Map and Parcel 145 -0- 050 -00 -0 (Lot 2), containing 1.56 acres on a plat prepared by W R Toole
Engineers, Inc. dated June 17, 2004, a copy of which is attached hereto and incorporated herein
by reference, and the property known as Map and Parcel 145 -0- 049 -00 -0 (Lot 1), containing 1.45
acres on a plat prepared by W R Toole Engineers, Inc. dated June 17, 2004, a copy of which is
attached hereto and incorporated herein by reference; and
WHEREAS, the total purchase price the Property is EIGHTY -TWO THOUSAND
THREE HUNDRED DOLLARS AND NO /100THS ($82,300.00), $42,000.00 being paid for
1817 Carmichael Road and $40,300.00 being paid for 1819 Carmichael Road respectively,
pursuant to their respective appraised values.
WHEREAS, it is necessary and appropriate for a resolution to be adopted authorizing the
purchase of the Property and to further authorize the executed of the necessary closing
documents by the Mayor and the Clerk of Commission.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Augusta- Richmond County
Commission,
Section 1: Augusta, Georgia shall purchase the Property commonly known as Map
and Parcel 145 -0- 050 -00 -0 and 145 -0- 049 -00 -0 as shown on the attached
plat for the respective purchase price of FORTY THOUSAND, THREE
HUNDRED DOLLARS($40,300.00) and FORTY -TWO THOUSAND
DOLLARAS($42,000.00), with the funds of such purchases to come from
the Account # 323061110- 296060990.
Section 2: It is further resolved that the Mayor and Clerk of Commission of Augusta -
Richmond County, Georgia are hereby authorized to execute such
documentation as may reasonably be required, in form approved by the
Interim General Counsel of Augusta to acquire such parcels.
Section 3: This Resolution shall be recorded in the Minutes of the Augusta -
Richmond County Commission, accompanied by the exhibits referred to
herein.
