RESOLUTION REAFFIRMING THE NECESSITY OF THE
"91111 CHARGE PER MONTH UPON EACH EXCHANGE
ACCESS FACILITY AND TO INCREASE THE "91111
CHARGE FROM $1.15 PER MONTH PER LINE TO $1.50
PER MONTH PER LINE.
WHEREAS/ the Board of Commissioners of Richmond County,
on October 8, 1991/ imposed a $1.50 per month "911" charge upon
each exchange access facility subscribed to by telephone
subscribers whose exchange to access lines are in areas served by
Richmond County "911" service; and
WHEREAS/ said charge became effective the first day of
the first month following passage or 120 days after October 8/
1991; and
WHEREAS/ the provisions of O.C.G.A. Sec. 46-5-134 (d) (2)
provide that local governments which are operating emergency "911"
systems reaffirm the necessity of the "911" charge by resolutions
adopted annually; and
WHEREAS/ the Board of Commissioners of Richmond County/
Georgia passed resolutions reaffirming the necessity of the 11911"
charge effective April 6, 1993, April 26, 1994, April 18, 1995 and
April 30/ 1996; and
WHEREAS/ the Augusta-Richmond County Commission has
determined that the fee for "911" charge should be increased to
$1.50 per month per line;

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Augusta-Richmond
County Commission, as the consolidated governing authority of
Richmond County and as successor to the Board of Commissioners of
Richmond County, pursuant to the provisions of O.C.G.A. Sec. 46-5-
134 (d) (2) hereby reaffirms the necessity of the "911" charge per
month upon each exchange access facility subscribed to by telephone
subscribers whose exchange to ~ccess lines are in areas served by
the Richmond County E-911 service.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Augusta-Richmond County
Commission-Council hereby directs BellSouth to collect a "911"
charge in the amount of $1.50 per month per exchange access
facility.
