WELCH Augusta- Richmond County Recreation and Parks Department 2027 Lumpkin Road Augusta, Georgia 30906 Attention: Mr. Tom Beck Re: Boundary, Topographic and Utility Map of Portions of Warren Road Park Our File No. 96-238 Gentlemen: We recently met with Roger Davis, Landscape Architect, about your plans for improvements to Warren Road Park, and the need for accurate mapping of at least portions of the site for use as the basis for design. The area to be surveyed consists of approximately 6.5 acres and is bounded by Warren Road on the north, the western entrance road on the east, boundary line on the south, and Crane Ferry Road on the west. SCOPE OF WORK We propose to make field surveys of the areas, locating planimetrically all visible improvements, and topographically mapping the terrain elevations. Planimetric surveys will cover all parts of all areas. The survey precision will be sufficient to produce elevation contours at two foot intervals, supplemented by appropriate spot and structure elevations. We will accomplish vertical control surveys to relate the elevations to the aerial topographic map datum, the National Geodetic Vertical Datum of 1929, commonly referred to as mean sea level. We propose to locate existing utility lines based on field marks and maps furnished by the utility owners. These utilities will include power, gas, water, telephone, sewer, storm sewer, and cable television. We propose to locate and identify all trees above 6" dbh and all ornamental trees regardless of size, and to furnish an elevation at the base of each. Also, we will map the wetlands on site at no additional cost. Using this field data, together with the boundary plats of record, we propose to prepare a boundary, topographic and utility map of each area in ink on mylar film at a scale of 1" = 30'. We will furnish one mylar sepia and five blueprints of the map for your use. We can also furnish the drawing in AutoCAD computer disc format, if desired, at no ..."., ~ /f. . ';. ... In the event of difference between the disc-reproduced drawing and the original tracing, the hard copy tracing will govern. FEE PROPOSAL Our fee for the work will be based on a lump sum of $3,850.00. TIME OF COMPLETION We are prepared to begin work at your direction and would expect to present you with the completed map within twenty (20) days thereafter. Your signature in the space provided on a copy of this letter returned to us will be our authority to proceed with the work. We appreciate the opportunity of submitting this proposal and trust that you find it satisfactory. WAYNE SWANN, R.L.S. SCOTT L. JOHNSON VAUGHN L. MAXWELL, III DENNIS J. WELCH Re: Boundary, Topographic and Utility Map of Portions of Lakeview Park Our File No. 96-200 Gentlemen: We recently met with Roger Davis, Landscape Architect, about your plans for improvements to Lakeview Park, and the need for accurate mapping of at least portions of the site for use as the basis for design. Fortunately, the Augusta Canal Authority has a two foot contour interval map of the entire site, available at a nominal cost of reproduction. A reduced copy is enclosed for your information. The aerial topographic map will be useful for overall site planning, but lacks precision sufficient for detailed design. Therefore, Roger Davis asked that we submit the following proposal for preparing an enhanced boundary, topographic, and utility map from field surveys of the three specific areas outlined on the attached map. The areas consist of approximately 26 acres in aggregate and are summarized below: Identification Description Approx. Area A. Julian Smith Casino Site 18 Acres (Broad Street to Boat Ramp) B. Barbecue Pit Site 3 Acres (Milledge Road to Lake Olmstead) C. Northeastern Lake Shore Site 5 Acres (Milledge Road to Lake Olmstead) Augusta-Richmond County Recreation and Parks Department April 5, 1996 Page 2 SCOPE OF WORK We propose to make field surveys of the areas, locating planimetrically all visible improvements, and topographically mapping the terrain elevations. Planimetric sUlveys will cover all parts of all areas. Elevation surveys will be omitted within abutting public streets beyond the nearest gutter lines. Elevation surveys will also -be omitted in the portion of Area A occupied by the ball field and the lands lying east and south of it. These utilities will include power, gas, water, telephone, sewer, storm sewer, and cable television. Using this field data, together with the boundary plats of record, we propose to prepare a boundary, topographic and utility map of each area in ink on mylar film. Area A will be compiled at a scale of 1" = 30' on a single 36 X 42 sheet, while the other areas. will be compiled at 1" = 20' on a sheet size to be determined. We will furnish one mylar sepia and five blueprints of the map for your use. We can also furnish the drawing in AutoCAD computer disc format, if desired, at no additional fee. In the event of difference between the disc-reproduced drawing and the original tracing, the hard copy tracing will govern. FEE PROPOSAL , Our fee for the work will be based on a lump sum of $13,755.00. Of this fee, $8,625.00 is applicable to Area A; $2,260.00, to Area B; and $2,870.00, to Area C. We would expect to submit our invoice upon completion of the work and to receive payment within fifteen days thereafter. TIME OF COMPLETION We are prepared to begin work at your direction and would expect to present you with the completed map within thirty (30) days thereafter.
