Dear Mr. Murphy,
I have autlined aur understanding af the project scape revisians requested far
the Willis FaremmiRaad prainage Impravements Project. Due to. a high
canstructiancast far the' ariginal praject scape we have analyzed several
alternatives. Includedbelaw are descriptians af three areas propased far
drainage improvements which will provide an appartunity -to. reduce the
quantity af starm water -routed to. the law area af Willis Fareman Raad.
Please reference the included map far the lacatians afthese three_ areas.
Proposed Improvements
The first area prapased for improvements is lacated alang the property line
between lats # 14 and # 15 an the east side af Willis F areman Raad. This area
will utilize a new starmwater diversian structure lacated in the raadside ditch
alang Willis Fareman Raad. The diverted starmwater will then be routed
between lats # 14 and # 15 via an open ditch sectian and discharged into. the
detentian pand forWaltan Acres Subdivisian. The remaining two. areas
prapased far improvements are lacated an the west side 'of Willis Faremen
Raad. Eachaf these two. areas will utilize new drap .inlets and 'flared end
sectians to. callect starmwateran bath sides af Willis Fareman Raad. The
callected starmwater will be routed between residential lats via 18" ~CP
starm sewers. The _ rerauted - starnlwater will then be discharged into. an
existing starmwater_ canve)'ance system and into. an existing starmwater
detentian facility.- Please reference the included maps far the locatians af the
three propased impravement areas,

Professional Services
Construction documents will include the following:
~ Design of a stormwater diversion structure and a plan and profile of the
open ditch section.
~ Hydraulic calculations for detemlination of required open ditch section
geometry.
~ Design of two new storm water conveyance systems for rerouting
storm water from both sides of Willis Foreman Road into the existing
detention pond and into an existing storm water drainage structure.
~ Hydraulic calculations for verification of capacity of the new storm sewer
system.
Should a complete engineering analysis be desired for assessment of the
existing detention pond and 01 the existing storm water conveyance systems,
W.R. Toole' Engineers ',will "provide hydraulic. calculations . and..hydrologic. ,
routing computations. These computations will be completed based on as-
built information, asprovided"bY' the AUg}.lsta-Richmond -Gounty.PublicW orks .

The three areas proposed for drainage improvements projects will assist in the
routing of stormwater from Willis Foreman Road to Spirit Creek. However,
the low area of Willis Foreman Road will still collect stormwater and
experience flooding occurences.
