HomeMy WebLinkAboutENVIRONMENTAL HEALTH FEE PROPOSAL YR 2009 iri. DHR Ketty M. Gonzalez, M.D., M.S., District Health Director Georgia Department of Human Resources + Division of Public Health Frank M. Rumph, M.D. Richmond County Health Department + 950 Laney Walker Blvd. + Augusta, GA 30901-2960 + + 706/721-5800 + 706/721-5903 FAX December 1,2008 Dear Augusta Commission: The Mission of the Richmond County Health Department is to assure conditions in which people can be healthy and to provide leadership in the prevention of disease and injury. It is the responsibility of Environmental Health to assure that activities associated with food service, tourist accommodations, public swimming pools, and on-site sewage management systems also lead to conditions in which people can be healthy. The fee schedule used to help recover costs associated with Environmental Health services was adjusted in 2006. In order to help recoup the increased cost of doing business, we are proposing a 15% increase to our fee schedule. The increase would go into effect on July 1,2009. Subsequent adjustments would be based on the annual Cost of Living Index, and would go into effect on July 1, 2010; 2011; 2012; etc. Please find attached the proposed fee schedule for 2009. The adjusted fees have been rounded off to the nearest whole dollar amount. We believe that the proposal is a reasonable adjustment, and we urge the Augusta Commission to support 'and approve the new Environmental Health fee document and subsequent fee adjustment recommendation.
