Wright~stant Director RE: Safety Hazard at the Augusta Canal DATE: September 11, 1996 On September 9, 1996, Ron Crowden brought a letter and photograph from a private citizen concerning a potentially hazardous condition on a ~pill-way of the Augusta Canal. Ron advised me that you had occasion to address this problem last year but the project was put on hold due to consolidation and budget restraints. I believe this collective concern should be resurfaced for final resolution and would support any effort in this regard. I applaud your taking the initiative with Mr. Woodhurst of the Canal Authority. If I or my staff may assist in any way in correcting this hazard please feel free to call on me. SMW Ire
