Policy & Procedure For Filling Authorized Positions
Attached for your information is the new Policy & Procedure for
filling authorized positions, and a notice (to be posted) advising
all applicants that effective April 1, 1996 all applications will
be taken at the Georgia Department of Labor.
Please direct any questions concerning the new policy & procedure
to Moses McCauley at 821-2851.

POLICY FOR ESTABLISHING CONTROL OF AUTHORIZED POSmONS
1. All job requests must be sent to the appropriate Administrator, then reviewed and verified by
the Human Resources Department for authorization of position.
2. Administrators may transfer or re-assign any authorized position, provided it does not exceed
the overall total number of authorized positions.
3. All positions within Augusta-Richmond County classification system will be advertised
through the Human Resources Department.
4. Procedures for submitting Job Request - Vacancy card submitted to Human Resources for
verification of authorized position and creation of advertisement.
5. Only authorized positions will be filled.

6. New positions or reclassification of positions must go through the new position classification
process or the job reclassification process. No new position or reclassification of position will
occur UIltil process is completed.
7. Administrators will report total employment to the Administrative Services Committee on a
monthly basis and to the full Commission on a quarterly basis.
