AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND AUGUSTA - RICHMOND COUNTY CODE §2 -2 -55
RELATING TO THE PROCEEDS OF THE RENTAL MOTOR VEHICLE TAX; TO
PROVIDE AN EFFECTIVE DATE; TO REPEAL CONFLICTING ORDINANCES; AND
FOR OTHER PURPOSES.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE AUGUSTA - RICHMOND COUNTY COMMISSION, AND
IT IS HEREBY ORDAINED BY AUTHORITY OF SAME AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. Augusta- Richmond County Code, Section 2 -2 -55 is hereby amended by striking said
section in its entirety, and substituting in lieu thereof the following, to wit:
Sec. 2 -2 -55. PROCEEDS TO FUND DOWNTOWN PARKING FACILITIES,
TRADE EXHIBIT AND EVENT CENTER AND OTHER CAPITAL
PROJECTS.
The proceeds of the rental motor vehicle tax enacted pursuant to O.C.G.A. §48-
13-93 shall be used for capital outlay projects associated with the construction,
maintenance and operation of the Reynolds Street Parking Deck, the Riverfront
Center Parking Deck, the Fort Discovery Parking Garage, and the Greene Street
Parking Garage; for the construction, maintenance and operation of the Trade,
Exhibit and Event Center; for promoting industry, trade, commerce and tourism
associated with the Trade, Exhibit and Event Center; and the construction and
maintenance of other capital outlay projects promoting industry, trade, commerce
and tourism.
Section 2. This ordinance shall become effective on the first day of the second month
following its adoption.
Section 3. All ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict herewith are hereby appealed.
Duly adopted by the Augusta — Richmond County Commission this 4 day of November ,
2010.
