HomeMy WebLinkAboutORD 7090 BENSON ROAD` ORDINANCE NO. 7 090 An Ordinance to amend the Comprehensive Zoning Ordinance adopted by the Augusta - Richmond County Commission effective September 16, 1997 (Ordinance No. 5960) together with all amendments which have been approved by either the Augusta - Richmond County Commission as authorized under the Home Rule Provisions of the Comprehensive Zoning Map from Constitution of the State of Georgia" by changing the zoning from Zone R -lA (One - family Residential) to Zone LI (Light Industry) affecting property located on the northeast right -of -way line of Benson Road, 3,360 feet, more or less, west of Richmond Hill Road; and for the repeal of ordinances in conflict herewith and for other purposes: THE AUGUSTA - RICHMOND COUNTY COMMISSION HEREBY ORDAINS: SECTION I. That the Comprehensive Zoning Ordinance adopted by the Board of Commissioners of Richmond County on the 15th day of November, 1983, the caption of which is set out above, is amended by changing the Comprehensive Zoning Map from Zone R -lA (One - family Residential) to Zone LI (Light Industry) affecting property as follows: Z.og- (. Beginning at a point located on the northeast right -of -way line of Benson Road, 3,360 feet, more or less, west of Richmond Hill Road; thence, in a westerly direction along the northeast right -of -way line of Benson Road a distance of 1,617 feet, more or less, to a point; thence, in a northerly direction a distance of 166 feet, more or less, to a point; thence, in a westerly direction a distance of 231 feet, more or less, to a point; thence, in a northerly direction a distance of 1,143 feet, more or less, to a point; thence, in a northeasterly direction a distance of 501 feet, more or less, to a point located on the southwest right -of -way line of Bobby Jones Expressway; thence, in a southeasterly direction along the southwest right -of -way line of Bobby Jones Expressway a distance of 1,821 feet, more or less, to a point; thence, in a southerly direction a distance of 797 feet, more or less, to the point of beginning. This property contains approximately 53 acres. (Tax Map 109- 3 -059- 00-0 and part of 108 -0- 058 -00 -0) SECTION IL This amendment to the Comprehensive Zoning Maps for Augusta - Richmond County is subject to the following stipulations: That if a sale is not finalized within six months the zoning shall revert to R -lA (One - family Residential) zoning. SECTION III. All Ordinances or parts of Ordinances in conflict with this Ordinance are hereby repealed. Done in Open Meeting under the Common Seal thereof this 21 day of Oct , 2008.
