ORDINANCE NO. 7067
A resolution by the Augusta-Richmond County Planning Commission recommending that the
Subdivision Regulations be amended as follows:
AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND SECTION OF THE SUBDIVISION REGULATIONS
OF AUGUSTA, GEORGIA, ADOPTED BY THE AUGUSTA COMMISSION ON
MARCH 18, 1997 BY PROVIDING FOR ADDITIONAL INFORMATION TO BE
INCLUDED ON THE SUBDIVISION PLAN:
THE AUGUSTA COMMISSION HEREBY ORDAINS:
SECTION I. That the Ordinance regulating the subdivision of land in Augusta, Georgia, is
amended by deleting Section 404 - Sidewalks in its entirety:
A. The installation of paved sidewalks unless required by the City Engineer is not
required as a minimum standard.

B. Sidewalks where installed shall meet the construction standards of the City
Engineer.
SECTION II. That the Ordinance regulating the subdivision of land in Augusta, Georgia, is
amended by adding a new Section 404 - Sidewalks:
A. Sidewalks must be provided for on any existing arterial or collector street that
is part of any subdivision plan that is adjacent to an existing street that is
classified as an arterial or collector in the Highway Functional Classification
System within the Augusta-Richmond County Urbanized Area as defined by
the Augusta Regional Transportation Study. Where installed, sidewalks shall
meet the construction standards of the Traffic Engineer.
SECTION III. All Ordinances or parts of Ordinances in conflict with this Ordinance are hereby
repealed.
