HomeMy WebLinkAboutORD 7037 DOUG BARNARD PARKWAY NIXON ROAD ~ ORDINANCE NO. 7037 An Ordinance to amend the Comprehensive Zoning Ordinance adopted by the Augusta-Richmond County Commission effective September 16, 1997 (Ordinance No. 5960) together with all amendments which have been approved by either the Augusta-Richmond County Commission as authorizedc::;under the Home Rule Provisions of the Comprehensive Zoning Map from Constitution of the State of Ge~y changing the zoning from Zone A (Agriculture) and Zone HI (Heavy Industry) to HI with a Special Exception to expand an existing salvage yard per Section 24-2 (a) (16) of the Comprehensive Zoning Ordinance for Augusta- Richmond County affecting property located on the southeast right-of-way line of Doug Barnard Parkway located where the centerline of Nixon Road extended intersects; and for the repeal of ordinances in conflict herewith and for other purposes: THE AUGUSTA-RICHMOND COUNTY COMMISSION HEREBY ORDAINS: SECTION 1. That the Comprehensive Zoning Ordinance adopted by the Board of Commissioners of Richmond County on the 15th day of November, 1983, the caption of which is set out above, is amended by changing the Comprehensive Zoning Map from Zone A (Agriculture) and Zone HI (Heavy Industry) to HI with a Special Exception to expand an existing salvage yard per Section 24-2 (a) (16) of the Comprehensive Zoning Ordinance for Augusta-Richmond County affecting property as follows: Beginning at a point located on the southeast right-of-way line of Doug Barnard Parkway located where the centerline of Nixon Road extended intersects; thence, in a northerly direction along the southeast right-of-way line of Doug Barnard Parkway a distance of 460 feet, more or less, to a point; thence, in a southeasterly direction a distance of 890 feet, more or less, to a point; thence, in a southerly direction a distance of 345 feet, more or less, to a point; thence, in a westerly direction a distance of 100 feet, more or less, to a point; thence, in a southerly direction a distance of 800 feet, more or less, to a point; thence, in a northwesterly direction a distance of 1,100 feet, more or less, to a point located on the southeast right-of-way 2 . o'b ~ ~ Lj "\ line of Doug Barnard Parkway; thence, in a northerly direction along the southeast right-of-way line of Doug Barnard Parkway a distance of 575 feet, more or less, to the point of beginning. This property contains approximately 22 acres and is known as Southern Pick a Part located at 1550 Doug Barnard Parkway (Part of Tax Map 099 Parcel 070 and Tax Map 099 Parcels 071, 072 & 073) SECTION II. This amendment to the Comprehensive Zoning Maps for Augusta-Richmond County is subject to the following conditions: 1) All storage of vehicles or vehicle parts be removed from the floodway of Rocky Creek 2) The existing salvage yard be brought into total compliance with all aspects of the City's salvage yard regulations. 3) A fence, nylon shade cloth screen, or a wall along the entire Doug Barnard Parkway frontage eight feet in height shall be erected and provisions of the Tree Ordinance regarding street yards shall be complied with over the entire Doug Barnard Parkway frontage. If there is.a conflict between conditions 2 and 3 then the more restrictive shall apply. 4) 4) should the sale of approximately 10 acres of Tax Map 099-0-70-00-0 not be complete within 12 months the zoning shall revert to Zone A (Agriculture) SECTION IlL All Ordinances or parts of Ordinances in conflict with this Ordinance are hereby repealed.
