ORDINANCE NO.6942
An Ordinance to amend the Comprehensive Zoning Ordinance adopted by the Augusta-
Richmond County Commission effective September 16, 1997 (Ordinance No. 5960) together
with all amendments which have been approved by either the Augusta-Richmond County
Commission as authorized under the Home Rule Provisions of the Comprehensive Zoning Map
from Constitution of the State of Georgia" by changing the zoning from Zone LI (Light
Industry) to Zone B-2 (General Business) affecting property located where the
southwest right-of-way line of Bobby Jones Expressway intersects the northwest
right-of-way line of Gordon Highway; and for the repeal of ordinances in conflict
herewith and for other purposes:
THE AUGUSTA-RICHMOND COUNTY COMMISSION HEREBY ORDAINS:
SECTION I. That the Comprehensive Zoning Ordinance adopted by the Board of Commissioners of Richmond
County on the 15th day of November, 1983, the caption of which is set out above, is amended by changing the
Comprehensive Zoning Map from Zone LI (Light Industry) to Zone B-2 (General Business) affecting
property as follows:
Beginning at a point where the southwest right-of-way
line of Bobby Jones Expressway intersects the northwest
right-of-way line of Gordon Highway; thence, in a
northerly direction a distance of 229 feet, more or
less, to a point located on the southeast right-of-way
line of Holiday Inn Drive; thence, in a northeasterly
direction along the southeast right-of-way line of
Holiday Inn Drive a distance of 35 feet, more or less,
to a point; thence, in a northwesterly direction along
the east right-of-way line of Holiday Inn Drive (dead
end) a distance of 60 feet, more or less, to a point;
thence, in a southwesterly direction along the northwest
right-of-way line of Holiday Inn Drive a distance of 350
feet, more or less, to a point; thence, in a northerly
direction a distance of 485 feet, more or less, to a
point; thence, in a westerly direction a distance of 325
feet, more or less, to a point; thence, in a northerly
direction a distance of 608 feet, more or less, to a
point located on the southeast railroad line of the
Seaboard Coastline Railroad Co; thence, in a
northeasterly direction along the southeast railroad

line of the Seaboard Coastline Railroad line a distance
of 1;230 feet, more or less, to a point; thence, in a
southeasterly direction a distance of 805 feet, more or
less, to a point; thence, in a northeasterly direction a
distance of 268 feet, more or less, to a point located
on the southwest right-of-way line of the Bobby Jones
Expressway; thence, in a southwesterly direction along
the Bobby Jones Expressway a distance of 1,900 feet,
more or less, to the point of beginning. This property
contains approximately 45 acres. (Tax Map 068 Parcels
010, 010-03 & 126)
SECTION II.
That this amendment to the Comprehensive zoning Maps for
Augusta-Richmond is subject-to the following conditions:
That if the sale is not completed in one year the zoning shall
revert to the current LI (Light Industry) zone.
SECTION III.
All Ordinances or parts of Ordinances in conflict with this
Ordinance are hereby repealed.
