An Ordinance to amend the Comprehensive Zoning Ordinance adopted by the Augusta-
Richmond County Commission effective September 16, 1997 (Ordinance No. 5960) together
with a1l amendments which have been approved by either the Augusta-Richmond County
Commission as authorized under the Home Rule Provisions of the Comprehensive Zoning Map
from Constitution of the State of Georgia" by changing the zoning from Zone R-2 (Two-
family Residential) to Zone B-1 (Neighborhood Business) affecting property located
on the southeast right-of-way line of Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd, 47 feet, more
or less, southwest of 9th Avenue; and for the repeal of ordinances in conflict herewith and
for other purposes:
THE AUGUSTA-RICHMOND COUNTY COMMISSION HEREBY ORDAINS:
SECTION I. That the Comprehensive Zoning Ordinance adopted by the Board of Commissioners of Richmond
County on the 15th day of November, 1983, the caption of which is set out above, is amended by changing the
Comprehensive Zoning Map from Zone R-2 (Two-family Residential) to Zone B-1 (Neighborhood
Business) affecting property as follows:
Beginning at a point located on the southeast right-of-
way line of Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd, 47 feet, more
or less, southwest of 9th Avenue; thence, in a
southeasterly direction a distance of 150.0 feet to a
point; thence, in a southwesterly direction a distance
of 50.0 feet to a point; thence, in a northwesterly
direction a distance of 150.0 feet to a point located on
the southeast right-of-way line of Martin Luther King
Jr. Blvd.; thence, in a northeasterly direction along
the southeast right-of-way line of Martin Luther King
Jr. Blvd. a distance of 50.0 feet to the point of
beginning. This property contains .17 acres and is
known under the present numbering system as 2044 Martin
Luther King Jr. Blvd. (Tax Map 072-2 Parcel 293)

SECTION II.
This amendment to the Comprehensive Zoning Ordinance for
Augusta-Richmond County is subject to the following conditions:
That the only use of the property be a community meeting place or
those uses allowed in the R-2 (Two-family Residential) zone.
SECTION III. All Ordinances or parts of Ordinances in conflict with this
Ordinance are hereby repealed.
