HomeMy WebLinkAboutORD 6787 SANDBAR FURY RD f ORDINANCE NO. 6787 An Ordinance to amend the Comprehensive Zoning Ordinance adopted by the Augusta- Richmond County Commission effective September 16, 1997 (Ordinance No. 5960) together with all amendments which have been approved by either the Augusta-Richmond County Commission as authorized under the Home Rule Provisions of the Comprehensive Zoning Map from Constitution of the State of Georgia" by changing the zoning from Zone B-1 (Neighborhood Business) and Zone LI (Light Industry) to Zone HI (Heavy Industry) with a Special Exception to operate a salvage yard affecting property located on the northwest comer of the intersection of Sand Bar Ferry Road and Pistol Range Road; and for the repeal of ordinances in conflict herewith and for other purposes: THE AUGUSTA-RICHMOND COUNTY COMMISSION HEREBY ORDAINS: SECTION I. That the Comprehensive Zoning Ordinance adopted by the Board of Commissioners of Richmond County on the 15th day of November, 1983, the caption of which is set out above, is amended by changing the Comprehensive Zoning Map from Zone B-1 (Neighborhood Business) and Zone LI (Light Industry) to Zone HI (Heavy Industry) with a Special Exception to operate a salvage yard affecting property as follows: z.o-s-...l{S' J. Beginning at a point located on the northwest comer of the intersection of SaNd Bar Ferry Road and Pistol Range Road; thence, in a northwesterly direction along the northeast right-of-way line of Sand Bar Ferry Road a distance of 1,050 feet, more or less, to a point; thence, in a northerly direction a distance of 1,040 feet, more or less, to a point; thence in a southeasterly direction a distance of 1,010 feet, more or less, to a point located on the northwest right-of-way line of Pistol Range Road; thence, in a southwesterly direction along the northwest right-of- way line of Pistol Range Road a distance of 1,240 feet, more or less, to the point of beginning. This property contains 27.22 acres and is known as Gibbs Auto Wrecking Company at 329 Sand Bar Ferry Road. (Tax Map 48-3 Parcel 93, Tax Map 48-4 Parcell, Tax Map 61-1 Parcel 72, and Tax Map 61-2 Parcell) SECTION II. This amendment to the Comprehensive Zoning Maps for Augusta- Richmond County is subject to the following stipulations: I) that if the salvage yard should cease to exist the zoning shall revert to B-1 and LI, 2) that no HI use of the property except a salvage yard be allowed 3) that any other use be only those allowed under the current B-1 and LI zones SECTION III. All Ordinances or parts of Ordinances in conflict with this Ordinance are hereby repealed. Done in Open Meeting under the Common Seal thereof this 1 ~ day of May ,2005.
