AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND THE CODE OF AUGUSTA-
RICHMOND COUNTY BY AMENDMENT OF SECTION 1-2-30(b)
WHICH WAS AMENDED BY ORDINANCE #6754 ENACTED
JANUAR Y 4, 2005 AND AUTHORIZED THE EXPEDITED
APPOINTMENT TO THE OFFICE OF . ADMINISTRATOR; TO
CONFORM THE NUMBER OF CANDIDATES PRESENTED BY THE
MA YOR UNDER THE AUGUSTA-RICHMOND COUNTY CODE TO
THE NUMBER OF CANDIDA TES FOR WHOM INFORMA TION
MUST BE RELEASED PURSUANT TO O.C.G.A. 50-18-72(a)7; AND
TO REPEAL ALL ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT HEREWITH; AND
TO PROVIDE AN EFFECTIVE DATE
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE AUGUSTA-RICHMOND COUNTY
COMMISSION AND IT IS HEREBY ORDAINED BY THE AUTHORITY OF SAME,
THA T THE AUGUSTA-RICHMOND COUNTY CODE BE AMENDED AS
FOLLOWS:
SECTION I. Amend and restate S 1-2-30(b) as follows:
The Administrator for Augusta-Richni.ond County shall be elected/appointed by a
majority vote of the Commission of Augusta-Richmond County, Georgia, from
nominations presented by the Mayor following the Commission approved recruitment
process. The Mayor shall present as many as three top candidates for appointment, along
with his recommendation. The Commission shall elect/appoint an Administrator from
among the candidate or candidates presented by the Mayor. Should none of the
candidates be elected/appointed, then the Mayor shall nominate as many as three new
candidates from those who applied through the recruitment process.
SECTION 2. This ordinance shall become effective upon its adoption 111
accordance with applicable laws.
SECTION 3. All ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict with this ordinance
are repealed.

ORDINANCE NO. 6754
AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND THE CODE OF AUGUSTA-
RICHMOND COUNTY BY REPEALING SECTION 1-2-30(b) TO
AUTHORIZE THE EXPEDITED APPOINTMENT TO THE OFFICE OF
ADMINISTRATOR; TO REPEAL ALL ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT
HEREWITH; AND TO PROVIDE AN EFFECTIVE DATE
. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE AUGUSTA-RICHMOND COUNTY
COMMISSION AND IT IS HEREBY ORDAINED BY THE AUTHORITY OF SAME,
that the Augusta-Richmond County Code be amended so as to:
SECTION 1. Repeal S 1-2-30(b) in its entirety.
SECTION 2. This ordinance shall become effective upon its adoption III
accordance with applicable laws.
SECTION 3. All ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict with this ordinance
are repealed.
