An Ordinance to amend the Comprehensive Zoning Ordinance adopted by
Augusta Richmond County Commission effective September 16, 1997 by
amending Sections 8, 9, 10, and 11 relative to certain developments
permitted by Special Exception in single-family residential (R -1) zones.
THE AUGUSTA COMMISSION HEREBY ORDAINS:
SECTION I. That the Comprehensive Zoning Ordinance is amended by deleting Section
8-2 (a), Special Exception in its entirety:
(a) Single-family attached dwellings and condominiums developed in
accordance with Section. 13 provided that the density of dwellings shall
not exceed three (3) units per acre.
SECTION II. That the Comprehensive Zoning Ordinance is anlended by adding the
following new Section 8-2 (a):
(a) Single-family attached and detached dwellings and condominiums
developed in accordance with Section 13 provided that the density of
dwellings shall not exceed three (3) units per acre.
SECTION III. That the Comprehensive Zoning Ordinance is amended by deleting
Section 9-2 (a), Special Exception in its entirety:
(a) Single-family attached dwellings and condominiums developed in
accordance with Section 13 provided that the density of dwellings shall
not exceed three (4) units per acre.
SECTION IV. That the Comprehensive Zoning Ordinance is amended by adding the
following new Section 9-2 (a):
(a) Single-family attached and detached dwellings and condominiums
developed in accordance with Section 13 provided that the density of
dwellings shall not exceed four (4) units per acre.

SECTION V. That the Comprehensive Zoning Ordinance is amended by deleting
Section 10-2 (a), Special Exception in its entirety:
(a) Single-family attached dwellings and condominiums developed in
accordance with Section 13 provided that the density of dwellings shall
not exceed five and one half (5 1/2) units per acre.
SECTION VI. That the Comprehensive Zoning Ordinance is amended by adding the
following new Section 10-2 (a):
(a) Single-family attached and detached dwellings and condominiums
developed in accordance with Section 13 provided that the density of
dwellings shall not exceed five and one half (5 112) units per acre.
SECTION VII. That the Comprehensive Zoning Ordinance is amended by deleting
Section 11-2 (a), Special Exception in its entirety:
(a) Single-family attached dwellings and condominiums developed in
accordance with Section 13 provided that the density of dwellings shall
not exceed seven (7) units per acre.
SECTION VIII. That the Comprehensive Zoning Ordinance is amended by adding the
following new Section 11-2 (a):
(a) Single-family attached and detached dwellings and condominiums
developed in accordance with Section 13 provided that the density of
dwellings shall not exceed seven (7) units per acre.

SECTION IX. All Ordinances or parts of Ordinances in conflict with this Ordinance are
hereby repealed.
