ORDINANCE NO. 6764
AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND THE CODE OF AUGUSTA-RICHMOND
COUNTY SECTION 5-3-5 "DISCHARGE LIMITS AND STANDARDS"
TO ADD A NEW SECTION (c) TO REQUIRE AUGUSTA TO NOTIFY
THE GEORGIA ENVIRONMENTAL PROTECTION DIVISION WHEN
ANY INDUSTRY IN THE CENTRALIZED WASTE TREATMENT POINT
SOURCE CATEGORY HAS ITS SEWER SERVICE TERMINATED OR
SAID INDUSTRY STOPS DISCHARGING INTO THE AUGUST A SEWER
SYSTEM; AND TO REPEAL ANY CONFLICTING ORDINANCES.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE AUGUSTA-RICHMOND COUNTY COMMISSION
AND IT IS HEREBY ORDAINED BY THE AUTHORITY OF SAME, that the Augusta-
Richmond County Code S 5-3-5 be amended as follows by the addition of section (c):
SECTION 1:
(c) Augusta is required to notify the Georgia Environmental Protection Division
immediately when any industry in the Centralized Waste Treatment Poinf Source
Category under 40 CFR 437 currently discharging to the Publicly Owned Treatment
Works changes in the following ways:
(1) The sewer service is terminated.
(2) The industry stops discharging.
SECTION 2:
All laws or ordinances or parts of laws or ordinances in conflict with this ordinance are
hereby repealed.
SECTION 3:
This ordinance shall become effective upon its adoption in accordance with applicable
laws.
