AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND THE CODE OF AUGUST A-RICHMOND
COUNTY BY ADDING THERETO THE FOLLOWING SECTION TO BE
KNOWN AS 96-2-20(b), "FEE FOR REINSTATEMENT OF LICENSES",
TO RESTATE 96-2-20, "PENALTY FOR VIOLATION", AS 96-2-20(a), TO
PROVIDE AN EFFECTIVE DA TE, AND TO REPEAL ANY
CONFLICTING ORDINANCES.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE AUGUST A-RICHMOND COUNTY COMMISSION
AND IT IS HEREBY ORDAINED BY THE AUTHORITY OF SAME, that the Augusta-
Richmond County Code be amended so as to provide for a fee for the reinstatement of any
Alcoholic Beverage License suspended for furnishing Alcoholic Beverages to minors, and to
repeal any conflicting ordinances.
1. That ~6-2-20 is hereby restated in its entirety as ~6-2-20(a):
96-2-20(a): "PENALTY FOR VIOLA nON"
Any licensee hereunder, or any person in the employ of the licensee or any person in the
employ of the retail business establishment for which the license was granted, who violates the
provisions of 96-2-19 herein, shall subject the license of the licensee to suspension or
revocation, and shall be guilty of an offense and, upon trial and conviction of a misdemeanor,
shall be punished by a fine in an amount not to exceed five hundred dollars ($500.00) and/or
imprisonment in jail for a period not to exceed sixty (60) days.
2. That 96-2-20 is further amended by adding a section to be known as S6-2-20(b):
96-2-20(b): "FEE FOR REfNSTATEMENT OF LICENSE"
Whenever an Alcoholic Beverage License(s), under 96-2-20(a) IS suspended, or
suspended and made subject to probation by the Augusta-Richmond County Commission for all
or a part of said period of suspension, said license shall not be reinstated unless the licensee pays
to the County a reinstatement fee of $500.00. Said reinstatement fee shall be due and payable

and remitted to Augusta-Richmond County not less than five (5) business days prior to the end of
any period of suspension or probated suspension imposed by the Augusta-Richmond County
Commission. Only one such fee shall be paid by anyone license holder on anyone occasion
irrespective of the number of licenses to be reinstated. Any fee paid pursuant to this Code
section shall be paid into the General Fund.
3. This ordinance shall become effective upon its adoption III accordance with
applicable laws.
4. All ordinance or parts of ordinances in conflict with this ordinance are repealed.
