ORDINANCE NO. 6664
AN ORDINANCE TO PROHIBIT THE CARRYING OR
POSSESSION OF DANGEROUS OR DEADLY
WEAPONS OR INSTRUMENTS OF LIKE CHARACTER
IN A TERMINAL BUILDING OF AN AIRPORT FACILITY
UNDER THE JURISDICTION OF AUGUSTA-RICHMOND
COUNTY.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE AUGUSTA-RICHMOND COUNTY
COMMISSION AND IT IS HEREBY ORDAINED BY THE AUTHORITY OF SAME AS
FOLLOWS:

The Augusta-Richmond County Code by adding new sections to be
numbered as 3-7-32, to be read as follows:
It shall be unlawful for any person within Augusta-Richmond County to
carry into or posses any bludgeon, metal knuckles, firearms, box cutters,
knife designed for the purpose of offense or defense, or any other
dangerous or deadly weapon or instrument of like character in a terminal
building of an airport facility under the jurisdiction of the city, except when
such unloaded firearms/weapons or instruments are packaged for
shipment and checked as baggage. The licensing of any weapon
described above shall not constitute a defense to this offense, except that
certified law enforcement officers, judges, magistrates; solicitors and
district attorneys may carry pistols in municipal airports, pursuant to
O.C.G.A 16-11-127.

This Ordinance shall become effective upon adoption.
All Ordinances or parts' of Ordinances in conflict with this Ordinance are

hereby repealed.

Section 4.

If any section, provision, or clause of any part of this Ordinance be
declared invalid or unconstitutional, or if the provisions of any part of this
Ordinance as applied to any particular situation or set of circumstances
be declared invalid or unconstitutional, such invalidity shall not be
construed to affect portions of this Ordinance not so held to be invalid, or
the application of this Ordinance to other circumstances not so held to be
invalid. It is hereby declared as the intent that this Ordinance would have
been adopted had such invalid portion not be included herein.
