A resolution by the Augusta-Richmond County Planning Commission recommending that the
Subdivision Regulations be amended as follows:
AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND THE SUBDNISION REGULATIONS OF AUGUSTA,
GEORGIA, ADOPTED BY THE AUGUSTA COMMISSION ON MARCH 18, 1997
BY PROVIDING FOR ADDITIONAL INFORMATION TO BE INCLUDED ON THE
DEVELOPMENT PLAN.
THE AUGUSTA COMMISSION HEREBY ORDAINS:
SECTION 1. That the Ordinance regulating the subdivision of land in Augusta, Georgia, is
amended by deleting Section 302 Y in its entirety:
Y The location of stop signs (and other traffic control devices as required by the
Traffic Engineer) including a statement to the effect that the subdivider shall be
responsible for the initial installation of the signs (and other traffic control
devices).
Adequate traffic control, per the MUTCD and/or the requirements of the Traffic
Engineer, is the responsibility of the Developer.
SECTION II. That the Ordinance regulating the subdivision of land in Augusta, Georgia, is
amended by adding a new Section 302 Y:
Y The location of stop signs (and other traffic control devices as required by the
Traffic Engineer) including a statement to the effect that the subdivider shall be
responsible for the initial installation of the signs (and other traffic control
devices).
A note shall appear on the Development Plan as follows: "Sign Sheeting
Requirements for Regulatory, Warning and Guide Signs shall be fabricated using
High Intensity, Retroreflective sheeting meeting the American Society of Testing
and Materials specifications for D 4956 Type III or higher".
Adequate traffic control, per the MUTCD and/or the requirements of the Traffic
Engineer, is the responsibility of the Developer.

SECTION m. All Ordinances or parts of Ordinances in conflict with this Ordinance are hereby
repealed.
