ORDINANCE NO.
AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND TITLE 2, CHAPTER I OF THE AUGUST A-
RICHMOND COUNTY CODE 92-1-29; TO PROVIDE AN EFFECTIVE DATE; TO
REPEAL CONFLICTING ORDINANCES; AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE AUGUSTA-RICHMOND COUNTY COMMISSION,
AND IT IS HEREBY ORDAINED BY AUTHORITY OF SAME AS FOLLOWS:

Augusta-Richmond County Code, 9 2-1-29 is hereby amended by adding
the following subparagraph:
(a) Any construction related business or practice whose primary function
is perfonned offsite shall be required to display on each vehicle used
offsite in the perfonnance of such business a decal issued by the
Licen~e and I nspection Department, as evidence of proof of payment
of the occupation tax,
(I) At the time of application for payment of the occupation tax, the
business or practice shall be required to provide the number of
vehicles for which a decal is requested. The License and
Inspection Department is hereby authorized to request registration
of any vehicle for veritication purposes,
(2) Decals shall be displayed on the back window of each vehicle
used by the business. The fee for each decal is $ 1.00. Any
business that fails to obtain and display decals shall be subject to
penalties and costs as set torth in ~ 1-6-1.
This ordinance shall take effect January 1,2003.
If any tenn, requirement or provision of this ordinance or the application
thereof to any person or circumstance shall, to any extent, be invalid or
unenforceable, the remainder of this ordinance or the application of such
terms, requirements and provisions to persons or circumstances other than
those to which it is held invalid or unenforceable, shall not be affected
thereby and each tem1, requirement or provision of this ordinance shall be
valid and be enforced to the fullest extent pennitted by law.
All ordinances or parts of ordinances previously adopted by the Augusta-
Richmond County Commission, which are in conflict with this ordinance,
are hereby repealed to the extent necessary to eliminate such conflict.
This Ordinance shall become effective upon its adoption.
