ORDINANCE NO. 6553 An Ordinance to amend the Comprehensive Zoning Ordinance adopted by the Board of Commissioners of Richmond County and the City Council of Augusta effective November 15, 1983, entitled "An Ordinance to Readopt and Reconfmn the Comprehensive Zoning Ordinance adopted March 25, 1963, by the Board of Conunissioners of Richmond County and the City Council of Augusta, together with all amendments which have been approved by either the Board of Conunissioners of Richmond County or the City Council of Augusta as authorized under the Home Rule Provisions of the Comprehensive Zoning Map from Constitution of the State of Georgia" by changing the zoning from Zone R-IC (One-family Residential) to Zone B-1 (Neighborhood Business) with a Special Exception affecting property located on the northeast comer of the intersection of Laney-Walker Boulevard and Sununer Street; and for the repeal of ordinances in conflict herewith and for other purposes: THE AUGUSTA-RICHMOND COUNTY COMMISSION HEREBY ORDAINS: SECTION I. That the Comprehensive Zoning Ordinance adopted by the Board of Commissioners of Richmond County on the 15th day of November, 1983, the caption of which is set out above, is amended by changing the Comprehensive Zoning Map from Zone R-IC (One-family Residential) to Zone B-1 (Neighborhood Business) with a Special Exception affecting property as follows: 2-~u~-lal ~ " ..'~ '. Beginning at a point located on the northeast comer of the intersection of Laney- Walker Boulevard and Summer Street; thence, in a northeasterly direction along the southeast right-of-way line of Summer Street a distance of 333 feet, more or less, to a point; thence, in a southeasterly direction a distance of 162.5 feet to a point; thence, in a southwesterly direction a distance of 50 feet, more or less, to a point; thence, in a southeasterly direction a distance of 172 feet, more or less, to a point located on the northwest right-of-way of Eighth Street; thence, in a southwesterly direction along the northwest right-of-way line of Eighth Street a distance of288 feet, more or less, to a point located on the northwest comer of the intersection of Eighth Street and Laney-Walker Boulevard, thence, in an northwesterly direction along the northwest right-of-way line of Laney-Walker Boulevard a distance of 340 feet, more or less, to the point of beginning. This property contains multiple parcels located on Laney-Walker Boulevard totaling 2.2 acres. This property is the proposed site of Armstrong Galleria Phase II and a list of the addresses is available at the Planning Commission office at 525 Telfair Street. SECTION II. All Ordirlances or parts of Ordinances in conflict with this Ordinance are hereby repealed. Done in Open Meeting under the Common Seal thereof this 12- day of Se p t ,2002.
