I ORDINANCE NO. 6467 AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND AUGUSTA-RICHMOND COUNTY CODE TO ENACT AUGUSTA-RICHMOND CeDE SECTION 3-7-32 SO AS TO PROHIBIT TICKET BROKERS FROM SELLING TICKETS WITHIN 2,700- FEET OF A PUBLIC ENTRANCE TO THE MASTER GOLF TOURNAMENT; TO PROVIDE AN EFFECTIVE DATE; TO PROVIDE FOR SEVERABILITY; TO REPEAL CONFLICTING ORDINANCES; AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES I j --_..~ I WHEREAS, O.C.G.A. ~ 43-4B-30 provides that with regard to any single athletic contest or entertainment events which occurs no more often than once annually and occurs within a time period not exceeding ten (10) days, local governments are authorized to enact by ordinance regulations governing ticket brokers for such contests or event which are more restrictive than the provisions of Article 3 of O.C.G.A. Title 43, Chapter 4B; and WHEREAS, it is the desire of the Augusta-Richmond County Commission to enact by Ordinance regulation governing ticket brokers for the Masters Golf Toumament; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE AUGUSTA-RICHMOND COUNTY COMMISSION, AND IT IS HEREBY ORDAINED BY THE AUTHORITY OF SAME that a new Section to be known as Augusta-Richmond County Code Section 3-7-32 is hereby enacted to provide as follows: Section 1. The Augusta-Richmond County Code, Section 3-7-32,' shall read as follows: ~3-7-32. It shall be unlawful for any ticket broker and its employees, agents, and assigns from reselling or offering for resale any ticket . ... ~ , ~ " " . . , ~. , . . . i. " ) ./ J .. ~ ' within 2,700 feet from the venue where the Masters Golf Tournament is being held. Section 2. This ordinance shall become effective upon adoption. Section 3. All ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict with this ordinance are hereby repealed. Section 4. Should any section, provision, or clause of any part of this Ordinance be declared invalid or unconstitutional, or if the provisions of any part of this Ordinance as applied to any particular situation or set of circumstances be declared invalid or unconstitutional, such invalidity shall not be construed to affect portions of this Ordinance not so held to be invalid, or the application of this Ordinance to other circumstances not so held to be invalid. It is hereby declared as the intent of this Ordinance would have been adopted had such invalid portion not been included herein.
