BE IT ORDAINED BY THE AUGUSTA-RICHMOND COUNTY COMMISSION AND IT IS HEREBY ORDAINED BY THE AUTHORITY OF SAME AS FOllOWS: Section 1. The Augusta-Richmond County Code by adding a new section to be numbered as 1-2-98, to read as follows: Section 2. 1-2-98. Vehicle Decals. Every motor vehicle which is owned or leased by Augusta, Georgia, or any department, agency, commission, or authority of Augusta, Georgia shall have affixed to the front door on each side of such vehicle a clearly visible decal to identify Augusta, Georgia as the government entity owning or leasing such vehicle. The requirements of this Section shall not apply to: (a) Any vehicle used for law enforcement or prosecution purposes; and (b) Any vehicle assigned for the transportation of the Mayor. This Section was adopted following a public hearing held no more than 14 days prior to the final adoption of the ordinance. The public hearing was advertised one time in the legal organ of Richmond County at least seven days prior to the hearing date. , ,,!". f~ J~ .. t ~~. i 1't. -. /') -' ?' .... ? , Section 3. This Ordinance shall become effective upon adoption. Section 4. All Ordinances or parts of Ordinances in conflict with this Ordinance are hereby repealed, Section 5. If any section, provision, or clause of any part of this Ordinance be declared invalid or unconstitutional, or if the provisions of any part of this Ordinance as applied to any particular situation or set of circumstances be declared invalid or unconstitutional, such invalidity shall not be construed to affect portions of this Ordinance not so held to be invalid, or the application of this Ordinance to other circumstances not so held to be invalid. It is hereby declared as the intent that this Ordinance would have been adopted had such invalid portion not be included herein.
