ORDINANCE
An Ordinance to amend the Comprehensive Zoning Ordinance adopted by
the Board of Commissioners of Richmond County and the City Council of
Augusta effective November 15, 1983, entitled "An Ordinance to Readopt
and Reconfinn the Comprehensive Zoning Ordinance adopted March 25,
1963, by the Board of Commissioners of Richmond County and the City
Council of Augusta, by amending Section 2, General Definitions of the
Comprehensive Zoning Ordinance.
THE AUGUSTA COMMISSION HEREBY ORDAINS:
SECTION 1. That the Comprehensive Zoning Ordinance is amended by deleting the
following from Section 2, General Definitions:
"HOTEL" shall mean any building containing sleeping rooms for the more or less
temporary occupancy of individuals who are lodged with or without meals, with no
provision made for any cooking in any individual room or suite.
SECTION II. That the Comprehensive Zoning Ordinance is amending by adding the
following to Section 2, General Definitions:
"HOTEL" shall mean any building containing sleeping rooms for the more or less
temporary occupancy of individuals who are lodged with or without meals, where guest
rooms are accessed through a central area or main lobby, and where the structure extends
two stories in height.

SECTION III. All Ordinances or parts of Ordinances in conflict with this Ordinance are
hereby repealed.
