ORDINANCE NO. 6350
An Ordinance to amend the Comprehensive Zoning Ordinance adopted by the Board of
Commissioners of Richmond County and the City Council of Augusta effective
November 15, 1983, entitled "An Ordinance to Readopt and Reconfirm the
Comprehensive Zoning Ordinance adopted March 25, 1963, by the Board of
Commissioners of Richmond County and the City Council of Augusta, by amending
Section 2 of the Comprehensive Zoning Ordinance.
THE AUGUSTA COMMISSION HEREBY ORDAINS:
SECTION 1. That the Comprehensive Zoning Ordinance is amended by deleting the current
language from Section 2 as follows:
"STRUCTURE" shall mean anything constructed or erected, the use of which requires
more or less permanent or semi-permanent location on the ground or the attachment to
something having a permanent location on the ground or water. (The term includes
buildings, houses, stores, gasoline pumps, house trailers, advertising signs, billboards,
manufactured homes, commercial manufactured unit, heating and air conditioning
equipment, structures from which products are vended and similar objects.)
SECTION IT. That the Comprehensive Zoning Ordinance is amended by adding the following
language to 2 as follows:
"STRUCTURE" shall mean anything constructed or erected, the use of which requires
more or less permanent or semi-permanent location on the ground or the attachment to
something having a permanent location on the ground or water. The term shall include
all types of buildings, houses, gazebos, above-ground swimming pools, in-ground
swimming pools, hot tubs, heating and air conditioning equipment, house trailers,
manufactured homes, stores, commercial manufactured units, gasoline canopies and
gasoline pumps, car washes, advertising signs, billboards, structures from which products
are vended, and tents and canopies which are in place more than two consecutive days
during any calendar quarter.)
SECTION III. All Ordinances or parts of Ordinances in conflict with this Ordinance are hereby
repealed.
