An
Ordinance
to
amend
the
Comprehensive
Zoning
Ordinance adopted by the Board of Commissioners of
Richmond County and the City Council of Augusta
effective November 15, 1983, entitled "An Ordinance to
Readopt
and
Reconfirm
the
Comprehensive
Zoning
Ordinance adopted March 25, 1963, by the Board of
Commissioners of Richmond County and the City Council
of Augusta, together with all amendments which have
been approved by either the Board of Commissioners of
Richmond County or the City Council of Augusta as
authorized under the Home Rule Provisions of the
Consti tution of the State of Georgia II by changing the
Comprehensive Zoning Map from Zone R-1C (One-family
Residence)
to
Zone
B-1
(Neighborhood
Business)
affecting property located on the southwest corner of
the intersection of Poplar Street and Bleakley Street;
and for the repeal of ordinances in conflict herewith
and for other purposes:
THE AUGUSTA-RICHMOND COUNTY COMMISSION HEREBY ORDAINS:
SECTION I. That the Comprehensive Zoning Ordinance adopted by the
Board of Commissioners of Richmond County on the 15th day of
November, 1983, the caption of which is set out above, is amended
by changing the Comprehensive Zoning Map from Zone R-1C (One-
family Residence) to Zone B-1 (Neighborhood Business) affecting
property as follows:
Beginning at a point .located on the southwest corner of
the intersection of Poplar Street and Bleakley Street;
thence, in a southerly direction along the northwest
right-of-way line of Bleakley Street a distance of 50.0
feet to a point; thenceJ in a northwesterly direction
a distance of 125.0 feet to a point; thence, in a
northeasterly direction a distance of 50.0 feet to a
point located on the southwest right-of-way line of
Poplar Street; thence, in a ~outheasterly direction
along the southwest right-of-way line of Poplar Street
a distance of 125.0 feet to the point of beginning.
This property contains .14 acres and is known under the
present numbering system as 1501 Bleakley Street.

SECTION II. That this amendment to the Comprehensive Z~~ng Map

Is subject to the following stipulation:

1. That a solid fence be erected on the south
property line in the rear yard to provide a buffer
from the vehicle parking;
2. That any sign necessary for the operation be
allowed only on the Poplar Street side in the side
or rear yard; and
3. That the only commercial use of this property
shall be a beauty shop; and that at such time as
this use shall cease, the zoning shall revert to
R-1C (One-family Residence) .
SECTION III.
All Ordinances or parts of Ordinances in conflict
with this Ordin~nce are hereby repealed.
