Ordinance
to
amend
the
Comprehensive
Zoning
Ordinance adopted by the Board of Commissioners of
Richmond County and the City Council of Augusta
effective November 15, . 1983, entitled "An Ordinance to
Readopt
and
Reconfirm
the
'Comprehens i ve
Zoning
Ordinance adopted March 25, 1963, by the Board of
Commissioners of Richmond County and the City Council
of Augusta, together with all amendments which have
been approved by either the Board of Commissioners of
Richmond County or the City Council of Augusta as
authorized under the Home Rule provisions of the
Consti tution of the State of Georgia" by changing the
Comprehensi ve Zoning Map from Zone B-1 (Neighborhood
Business) to Zone B-2 (General Business) affecting
property located on the north right-of-way line of
Washington Road, 262.0 feet west of the northwest
corner of the intersection of Cherry Street and
Washington Road; and for the repeal of ordinances in
conflict herewith and for other purposes:
THE AUGUSTA-RICHMOND COUNTY COMMISSION HEREBY ORDAINS:
SECTION I. That the Comprehensive Zoning Ordinance adopted by the
Board of Commissioners of Richmond County on the 15th day of
Novembe,r, 1983, the caption' of which is set out above, is amended
by changing
the
Comprehensive
Zoning Map
from Zone" B-1
Neighborhood Business) to Zone B-2 (General Business) affecting
property as follows:
Beginning at a point located on the north right-of-way
line of Washington Road, 262.0 feet west of the
northwest corner of the intersection of Cherry Street
and Washington Road; thence, in a westerly direction
along the north right-of~way line of Washington Road a
distance of 193.09 feet to a point located on the
northeast ,corner of the intersection of Poncianna Drive
and Washington Road; thence,/ in a northerly direction
along the east right-of,-way line of Poncianna Drive a
distance of 237.59 feet to a point; thence, in an
easterly direction a distance of 170.79 feet to a
point; thence, in a southerly direction a distance of
229.6 feet to the point of beginning. This property
contains approximately 1.0 acre and is known under the
present numbering system as 3309-3311 Washington Road.

SECTION II.
All Ordinances or parts of Ordinances in conflict
with this Ordinance are. hereby repealed.
