ORDINANCE NO'. 6242
AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND THE AUGUSTA-RICHMOND
COUNTY CODE, SECTION 1-1-12 AUTHORIZING CERTAIN
EMPLOYEES TO ISSUE CITATIONS SO AS TO ADD CODE
ENFORCEMENT OFFICERS TO LISTED EMPLOYEES
AUTHORIZED TO ISSUE CITATIONS; TO PROVIDE AN
EFFECTIVE DATE; TO REPEAL CONFLICTING ORDINANCES;
AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE AUGUSTA-RICHMOND COUNTY
COMMISSION, AND IT IS HEREBY ORDAINED BY AUTHORITY
OF SAME AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1.
Augusta-Richmond County Code, Section 1-1-12 is hereby stricken in its
entirety and substituted in lieu thereof is the following:
Employees of the public works and utilities departments of Augusta, and
employees of the Augusta-Richmond County Planning and Zoning
Commission, and employees serving as license inspectors and code
enforcement officers of the Augusta License and Inspection Department are
hereby authorized to issue citations to any person violating any provision of
this Code and/or any ordinance of Augusta-Richmond County which
relates to drainage or soil erosion and sediment control, subdivisions and
zoning, water and sewage, alcohol and business licensing, and private
property maintenance codes including specifically ~ 7-2-1, ~ 7-1-3, ~ 7-1-
16, and ~ 3-5-134.
Section 2.
All Ordinances or parts of Ordinances in conflict herewith are
hereby repealed.
Section 3.
This Ordinance shall become effective immediately upon adoption.
