An Ordinance to amend the Comprehensive Zoning Ordinance adopted by the Augusta-
Richmond County Commission effective September 16, 1991 (Ordinance No. 5960) by
changing the provisions of Section 4-1 (f) related to curb cuts.
THE AUGUSTA COMMISSION HEREBY ORDAINS:
SECTION 1. That the Comprehensive Zoning Ordinance is amended by deleting
the current language at 4-1(f) as follows:
(f)
No curb cuts shall be allowed within fifty (50) feet of the
intersection of the right-of-way line of two public streets. Except
in residential zones, no curb cut shall be allowed within fifty (50)
feet of any other curb cut on or off-site, nor shall any curb cut be
allowed within twelve and one-half (12 112) feet of any property
line.

SECTION II. That the Comprehensive Zoning Ordinance is amended by adding
a new section 4-1(f) as follows:
(f) A curb cut shall be located as far as practical from the intersection
of the right-of-way lines of two streets, and no curb cut shall be
permitted within fifty (50) feet of an intersection. Each parcel that
is in ownership separate from the ownership of contiguous parcels
shall be entitled to at least one curb cut per street front. Except in
single- family residential zones, curb cuts shall be at least 100 feet
apart where practical. Except in single-family residential zones,
shared driveways are encouraged, and where practical a driveway
that is not a shared driveway shall be at least fifty (50) feet from a
property line.
SECTION III. All Ordinances or parts of Ordinances In conflict with this
Ordinance are hereby repealed.
