An Ordinanc:e to amend the Comprehensive Zoning Ordinance
adopted by the Board of Commissioners of Richmond County
and the city Council of Augusta effective November 15,
1983, entit:led "An Ordinance to Readopt and Reconfirm the
Comprehensive Zoning Ordinance adopted March 25, 1963, by
the Board of Commissioners of Richmond County and the
City Council of Augusta, together with all amendments
which haVla been approved by either the Board of
commissionlars of Richmond County or the City Council of
Augusta as authorized under the Home Rule provisions of
the Constit:ution of the state of Georgia" by changing the
Comprehensive Zoning Map from Zone R-1A (One-family
Residence) to Zone LI (Light Industry) affecting property
located on the southwest right-of-way line of Damascus
Road, 1,3JL5 feet, more or less, northwest of the
southwest c::orner of the intersection of Highland Avenue
and Damascus Road; and for the repeal of ordinances in
conflict hlarewith and for other purposes:
THE AUGUSTA-RICliMOND COUNTY COMMISSION HEREBY ORDAINS:
SECTION I. That: the Comprehensive Zoning Ordinance adopted by the
Board of Commil3sioners of Richmond County on the 15th day of
November, 1983, the caption of which is set out above, is amended
by changing the Comprehensive Zoning Map from Zone R-1A (One-family
Residence) to Zone LI (Light Industry) affecting property as
follows:
Beginning at a point located on the southwest right-of-
way line of Damascus Road, 1,315 feet, more or less,
northwest ()f the southwest corner of the intersection of
Highland Avenue and Damascus Road; thence, S 50007'05" W
a distance of 197.05 feet to a.point; thence, S 42002'05"
W a distance of 216.05 feet to a point; thence, S
47042'44" E a distance of 25.99 feet to a point; thence,
S 46012'05" W a distance '.of 350.57 feet to a point
located on the northeast right-of-way of the Georgia
Railroad li.ne; thence, ina northwesterly direction along
the northeast right-of-way of the Georgia Railroad line
a distance of 629 feet, more or less, to a point; thence,
N 19026'29" E a distance. of 691.97 feet to a point
located on the southwest right-of-way line of Damascus
Road; thence, in a southeasterly direction along the
southwest right-of-way line of Damascus Road a distance
of 901 feet, more or less, to the point of beginning.
This property contains 10.54 acres.
