AN ORDINANCE TO' AMEND SECTION 7-4-6 OF THE
AUGUSTA-RICHMOND COUNTY CODE REGARDING THE
VOTING PROCEDURES FOR THE HISTORIC
PRESERVATION COMMISSION; TO PROVIDE AN
EFFECTIVE DATE; TO REPEAL CONFLICTING
ORDINANCES; AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE AUGUSTA-RICHMOND COUNTY COMMISSION
AND IT IS HEREBY ORDAINED BY THE AUTHORITY OF SAME AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. The Augusta-Richmond County Code, Title 7,
section 7-4-6, to wit:
S 7-4-6. POWER TO ADOPT RULES AND STANDARDS.
The Historic Preservation commission
shall adopt rules and standards for the
transaction of its business, for consideration
of
applications
for
designations
and
certificates of Appropriateness, including:
By-laws, membership provisions, and design
guidelines.
The
Historic
Preservation
Commission shall provide for the time and
place of regular meetings and a method for the
calling of special meetings.
The Historic
Preservation commission shall select such
officers as it deems appropriate from among
its members.
In the event of a tie in any
vote made by the Historic Preservation

Commission, the ranking officer in attendance
will cast an additional vote to break the tie.
is hereby deleted in its entirety and the following substituted
therefor:

Certificates of Appropriateness, including:
By-laws, membership provisions, and design
guidelines. The Historic Preservation
Commission shall provide for the time and
place of regular meetings and a method for the
calling of special meetings. The Historic
Preservation Commission shall select such
officers as it deems appropriate from among
its members. The Chairman of the Historic
Preservation commission shall be entitled to
vote upon any issue, motion or resolution, as
any other member.

section 2. This ordinance shall become effective upon
adoption.
section 3.
All ordinances or parts of ordinances in
conflict with this ordinance are hereby repealed.
