HomeMy WebLinkAboutORD 5956 DOUG BARNARD PKY Augusta Richmond GA DOCUMENT NAME: o-ffh- ~~lr2 DOCUMENT TYPE: O'(O\ffiGce YEAR: C\ l BOX NUMBER: ()3 FILE NUMBER: l?:i)~ NUMBER OF PAGES: Q ,- ~.. ~ ~ 't " ORDINANCE No.~~b An prdinance to amend the Comprehensive Zoning Ordinance adopted by the Board of Commissioners of Richmond County and the City Council of Augusta effective November 15, 1983, entitled "An Ordinance to Readopt and Reconfirm the Comprehensive Zoning Ordinance adopted March 25, 1963, by the Board of Commissioners of Richmond County and the City Council of Augusta, together with all amendments which have been approved by either the Board of commissioners of Richmond County or the City Council of Augusta as authorized under the Home Rule Provisions of the Constitution of the state of Georgia" by changing the comprehensive Zoning Map from Zone LI (Light Industry) to Zone HI (Heavy Industry) with a Special Exception per section 24-2 (a) to allow outside storage of metals or other materials affecting property located on the west right-of-way line of Doug Barnard Parkway, 500 feet, more or less, south of the southwest corner of the intersection of Nixon Road and Doug Barnard Parkway; and for the repeal of ordinances in conflict herewith and for other purposes: THE AUGUSTA-RICHMOND COUNTY COMMISSION HEREBY ORDAINS: SECTION I. That the Comprehensive Zoning Ordinance adopted by the - Board of Commissioners of Richmond County on the 15th day of November, 1983, the caption of which is set out above, is amended by changing the Comprehensive zoning Map from Zone LI (Light Industry) to Zone HI (Heavy Industry) with a Special Exception per section 24-2 (a) to allow outside storage of metals or other materials affecting property as follows: Beginning at a point located on the west right-of-way line of Doug Barnard Parkway, 500 feet, more or less, south of the southwest corner of the intersection of Nixon Road and Doug Barnard Parkway; thence, in a southerly direction along the west right-of way line of Doug Barnard Parkway a distance of 471 feet, more or less, to a point; thence, in a northwesterly direction a distance of 829 feet, more or less, to a point located on the east right-of-way of the Central of Georgia Railroad line; thence, in a northerly direction along the east right-of-way of the Central of Georgia Railroad line a distance of 790 feet, more or less, to a point. located on the southeast corner of the intersection of Nixon Road and the Central of Georgia Railroad line; thence, in an \ r ? ., -. " , easterly direction along the south right-of-way line of Nixon Road a distance of 156.16 feet to a point; thence, in a southerly direction a distance of 157.9 feet to a point; thence, in an easterly direction a distance of 160 feet, more or less, to a point located on the west right- of-way line of Mann street; thence, in a southerly direction along the west right-of-way line of Mann street a distance of 100 feet, more or less, to a point; thence, in a southerly direction a distance of 354 feet, more or less, to a point; thence, in an easterly direction a distance of 357.52 feet to the point of beginning. This property contains 10.04 acres. SECTION II. That this amendment to the Comprehensive Zoning Map is subject to the following stipulation: 1) That the development of the property shall conform to the plan submitted by the petitioner in regard to buffers, and in addition a slated chain link fence at least six feet in height shall be placed along the right-of-way line of Doug Barnard Parkway with a vegetative screen planted inside the fence that would be expected to provide a solid buffer eight feet in height within three years; and 2) The Special Exception shall apply only to the rear of the property (as shown on the site plan), beginning approximately 390 feet from the right-of-way line of Doug Barnard Parkway. SECTION III. All Ordinances or parts of Ordinances in conflict with this Ordinance are hereby repealed. Done in Open Meeting under the Common Seal thereof this /k~ day of ~~ ~~ , 1997.
