AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND SECTION 6-6-47 OF THE AUGUSTA-RICHMOND COUNTY CODE SO AS ~O REVISE THE EFFECTIVE PERIOD FOR A "GOING OUT OF BUSINESS" LICENSE; SO AS TO PROVIDE THAT A BUSINESS MUST HAVE BEEN ESTABLISHED FOR AT LEAST TWELVE MONTHS PRIOR TO ISSUANCE OF A "GOING OUT OF BUSINESS" LICENSE; TO PROVIDE AN EFFECTIVE DATE; TO REPEAL CONFLICTING ORDINANCES; AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE AUGUSTA-RICHMOND COUNTY COMMISSION AND IT IS HEREBY ORDAINED BY THE AUTHORITY OF SAME AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. The Augusta-Richmond County Code, Title 6, section 6-6-47(c) (2), to wit: (2) Established business requisite. Any person who has not been the owner of a business advertised or described in the application for a business tax certificate hereunder for a period of at least six (6) months prior to the date of the proposed sale shall not be granted a business tax certificate. is hereby deleted in its entirety and the following substituted therefor: (2) Established business requisite. Any person who has not been the owner of a business advertised or described in the j' ".. . .. '. application for a business tax certificate hereunder for a period of at least twelve (12) months prior to the date of the proposed sale shall not be granted a business tax certificate. Section 2. The Augusta-Richmond County Code, Title 6, section 6-6-47(e) (1), to wit: (1) Effective period. The business tax certificate shall authorized [sic] the sale described in the application for a period of not more than ninety (90) consecutive days, Sundays and legal holidays excluded, following the issuance thereof. is hereby deleted in its entirety and the following substituted therefor: (1) Effective period. The license officer shall renew a business tax certificate for one (1) period of time only, such period to be in addition to the ninety (90) days permitted in the original business tax certificate and not to exceed sixty (60) consecutive days, Sundays and holidays excluded, when he finds: is hereby deleted in its entirety and the following substituted therefor: a. Renewal procedure. The license officer shall renew a business tax certificate for one (1) period of time only, such period to be in addition to the ninety (90) days permitted in the original business tax certificate and not to exceed sixty (60) consecutive days, when he finds: Section 4.
