An Ordinance to amend the Comprehensive Zoning Ordinance
adopted by the Board of Commissioners of Richmond County
and the City Council of Augusta effective November 15,
1983, entitled "An Ordinance to Readopt and Reconfirm the
Comprehensive Zoning Ordinance adopted March 25, 1963, by
the Board of Commissioners of Richmond County and the
city Council of Augusta, together with all amendments
which have been approved by either the Board of
Commissioners of Richmond County or the City Council of
Augusta as authorized under the Home Rule provisions of
the Constitution of the state of Georgia" by changing the
Comprehensive Zoning Map from Zone A (Agriculture) to
Zone B-1 (Neighborhood Business) affecting property
located on the north right-of-way line of Scott Nixon
Memorial Drive Extension, 1,425 feet,' more or less, west
of a point where the centerline of MCKnight In~ustrial
Road extended intersects the north. right-of-way line of
Scott Nixon Memorial Drive Extension; and for the repeal
of ordinances in conflict herewith and for other
purposes:
THE AUGUSTA-RICHMOND COUNTY COMMISSION HEREBY ORDAINS:
SECTION I. That the Compre~ensive Zoning Ordinance adopted by the
Board of Commissioners of Richmond County on the 15th day of
November, 1983, the caption of which is set out above, is amended
by changing the Comprehensive Zoning Map from Zone A (Agriculture)
to Zo.ne B-1 (Neighborhood Business) affecting property as follows:
Beginning at a point located on the north right-of-way
line of Scott Nixon Memorial Drive Extension, 1,425 feet,
more or less, west of a point where the centerline of
McKnight Industrial Road extended intersects the north
right-of-way line of Scott Nixon Memorial Drive
Extension; thence, in a northwesterly direction along the
north right-of-way line of Scott Nixon Memorial Drive
Extension a distance of 582 feet, more or less, to a
point; thence, in. a northerly direction a distance of 680
feet, more or less, to a point located on the Richmond
County/Columbia County boundary line; thence, in a
northeasterly direction along the Richmond
County/Columbia County boundary line a distance of 120
feet, more or less, . to a point; thence, in a
southeasterly direction a distance of 940 feet, more or
less, to a the point of beginning. This property
contains approximately 5.9 acres.
