HomeMy WebLinkAboutORD 5895 WALTON WAY Augusta Richmond GA DOCUMENT NAME: 0 - \C\C\l" D~~ DOCUMENT TYPE: CJ(c}\\\llf\C~ YEAR: Cfl BOX NUMBER: OQ FILE NUMBER: \Q~"lt) NUMBER OF PAGES: 0 . . i ORDINANCE No.S%9..r An Ordinance to amend the Comprehensive Zoning Ordinance adopted by the Board of Commissioners of Richmond County and the city Council of Augusta effective November 15, 1983, entitled "An Ordinance to Readopt and Reconfirm the Comprehensive Zoning Ordinance adopted March 25, 1963, by the Board of Commissioners of Richmond County and the City Council of Augusta, together with all amendments which have been approved by either the Board of Commissioners of Richmond County or the City Council of Augusta as authorized under the Home Rule Provisions of the Constitution of the state of Georgia" by changing the Comprehensive Zoning Map from Zone R-3B (Multiple-family Residence) and Zone B-1 (Neighborhood Business) to Zone B-2 (General Business) affecting property located on the northeast corner of the intersection of Walton Way and Young street; and for the repeal of ordinances in conflict herewith and for other purposes: THE AUGUSTA-RICHMOND COUNTY COMMISSION COUNCIL HEREBY ORDAINS: SECTION I. That the Comprehensive Zoning Ordinance adopted by the Board of Commissioners of Richmond County on the 15th day of November, 1983, the caption of which is set out above, is amended by changing the Comprehensive Zoning Map from Zone R-3B (Multiple- family Residence) and Zone B-1 (Neighborhood Business) to Zone B-2 (General Business) affecting property as follows: Beginning at a point located on the northeast corner of the intersection of Walton Way and Young Street; thence, in a northeasterly direction along the southeast right- of-way line of Young Street a distance of 344 feet, more or less, to a point located on the southwest bank of the Augusta Canal; thence, in a southeasterly direction along the southwest bank of the Augusta Canal a distance of 673 feet, more or less, to a point; thence, in a southwesterly direction a distance of 153 feet, more or less, to a point located on the northeast right-of-way line of Walton Way; thence, in a northwesterly direction along the northeast right-of-way line of Walton Way a distance of 660 feet, more or less, to the point of beginning. This property contains the former Laughton B. Evans School and is known under the present numbering system as 1399 Walton Way. ~ .. . SECTION II. That this amendment to the comprehensive Zoning Map is subject to the following stipulations: The above property shall not be used for the fOllowing: 1) Free standing bar or establishment that includes or offers dancing or entertainment, theater, billiard parlor, bowling alley, skating rink, or similar recreational uses or places of assembly; 2) For a public parking garage, flea market, mini warehouses, tractor-trailer park or business park (at least 50% occupied by commercial retail with the remainder being warehouses), video or electronic game room or arcade; or 3) Any automotive related business, except for retail service station or as other wise permitted under B-1 zoning. SECTION III. All Ordinances or parts of Ordinances in conflict with this Ordinance are hereby repealed.
