An Ordinance to amend the comprehensive Zoning Ordinance
adopted by the Board of Commissioners of Richmond County
and the City council of Augusta effective November 15,
1983, entitled "An Ordinance to Readopt and Reconfirm the
Comprehens i ve Zoning Ordinance adopted March 25, 1963, by
the Board of Commissioners of Richmond County and the
city council of Augusta, together with all amendments
which have been approved by either the Board of
Commissioners of Richmond County or the city council of
Augusta as authorized under the Home Rule provisions of
the Constitution of the state of Georgia" by changing the
Comprehensive zoning Map from Zone A (Agriculture) and R-
3B (Multiple-family Residence) to Zone HI
(Heavy
Industry) with a special Exception to allow the expansion
of an existing surplus military vehicle sales operation
per Section 24-2 of the Comprehensive Zoning Ordiance for
Augusta-Richmond County affecting property located on a
Bearing N 88055'20" Wand being 660 feet, more or less,
east of the east right-of-way line of Mike Padgett
Highway and also being, 1240 feet, more or less, south of
the southeast corner of the intersection of Payton Road
and Mike Padgett Highway; and for the repeal of
ordinances in conflict herewith and for other purposes:
THE AUGUSTA-RICHMOND COUNTY COMMISSION COUNCIL HEREBY ORDAINS:
SECTION I. That the Comprehensive Zoning Ordinance adopted by the
Board of Commissioners of Richmond County on the 15th day of
November, 1983, the caption of which is set out above, is amended
by changing the Comprehensive Zoning Map from Zone A (Agriculture)
and R-3B (Multiple-family Residence) to Zone HI (Heavy Industry)
with a Special Exception to allow the expansion of an existing
surplus military vehicle sales operation per Section 24-2 of the
Comprehensive Zoning Ordiance for Augusta-Richmond County affecting
property as follows:
Beginn~ng at a point located on a Bearing N 88055'20" W
and be1n~ 660 fe~t, more or less, east of the east right-
of-way l1ne of M1ke Padgett Highway and also being, 1240
feet, more or less, south of the southeast corner of the
intersection of Payton Road and Mike Padgett Highway;
thence, in a northeasterly direction a distance of 90
feet, more or less, to a point; thence, in a northerly
direction a distance of 343 feet, more or less, to a
point; thence, in an easterly direction a distance of
1163 feet, more or less, to a point; thence, in a
southerly direction a distance of 489 feet, more or less,
to a point; thence, N 64013'05" W a distance of 283.63
feet to a point; thence, N 69048'55" W a distance, of
98.37 feet to a point; thence, N 88055'20" W a distance
of 807 feet, more or less, to the point of beginning.
This property contains approximately 11 acres and is a
rear portion of 3210 Mike Padgett Highway.
SECTION II. All Ordinances or parts of Ordinances in conflict with
day
this Ordinance are hereby repealed.
