AN ORDINANCE TO ESTABLISH A DUE DATE FOR AD
VALOREM TAXES FOR THE URBAN AND SUBURBAN
DISTRICTS OF AUGUSTA-RICHMOND COUNTY; TO
ESTABLISH THE RATE. OF INTEREST AND PENALTY
AMOUNTS FOR DELINQUENT AD VALOREM TAXES FOR
THE URBAN AND SUBURBAN DISTRICTS OF AUGUSTA~
RICHMOND COUNTY; TO ESTABLISH A DISCOUNT FOR
EARLY PAYMENT OF AD VALOREM-TAXES BY ~ESIDENTS
OF THE URBAN AND> S'UBURBAN DISTRICTS OF
AUGUSTA-RICHMOND COUNTY; TO REPEAL CONFLICTING
ORDINANCES; TO PROVIDE.AN EFFECTIVE DATE; AND
FOR OTHER PURPOS~S~ - - .' -
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE AUGUSTA-RICHMOND COUNTY
COMMISSION-COUNCIL AND IT IS HEREBY ORDAINED BY THE AUTHORITY OF
SAME AS FOLLOWS:
, Section 1, The Richmond County Code, Part II, Section 8-40 is
hereby amended by deleting subsections (a) and (c) in their
entirety and substituti~g therefor the fOliowing:
(a) State, county andsG~oQl t~xes for the urban and

suburban -district's.-' of Augu,sta-Richmond County,
Georgia shall be' due each tax year on November
fifteenth or on such other date as may be
established by resolution of the Augusta-Richmond
County Commission~Council,
(c) (1) A discount of one percent (1%) will be applied
where taxes are paid in full within 20 days of the
billing date,

(2) All delinquent ad valorem taxes levied by the
taxing jurisdiction in Augusta-Richmond County,
Georgia, will be charged a rate of interest of
twel ve percent (12%) pe.r annum,
(2) All delinquent advalore~ taxes levied by the
taxing jurisdfc~ion_"'.in' Augusta-Richmond County,
Geor.gia,.shaILbe:charged _a rate of penalty of ten
percent (10%).of.the amount of the. delinquency.
Section 2, All laws or'ordinances or parts of laws or ordi-
nances, including without limitation - all laws or ordinances or
parts of -laws or ordinances of. the City Council of Augusta,
Georgia, in conflict with this'ord~nance are hereby repealed,
- Section 3, This ordinance, ~hall become effective upon
adoption,
