An Ordinance to amend the Comprehensive Zoning Ordinance adopted
by the Board of Commissioners of Richmond County and the City Council
of Augusta effective November 15, 1983, entitled "An Ordinance to
Readopt and Reconfirm the Comprehensive Zoning Ordinance adopted
March 25, 1963, by the Board of Commissioners of Richmond County
and the City Council of Augusta, together with all amendments which
have been approved by either the Board of Commissioners of Richmond
County or the City Council of Augusta as authorized under the Home
Rule Provisions of the Constitution of the State of Georgia" by changing
the Comprehensive Zoning Map from Zone A (Agriculture) to Zone R-1 A
(One-family Residence) affecting property located on the northwest right-
of-way line of Markwalter Road, 273 feet, more or less, northeast of the
northwest corner of the intersection of Brown Road and Markwalter
Road; and for the repeal of ordinances in conflict herewith and for other
purposes:
THE AUGUSTA-RICHMOND COUNTY COMMISSION-COUNCIL HEREBY ORDAINS:
SECTION I. That the Comprehensive Zoning Ordinance adopted by the Board of
Commissioners of Richmond County on the 15th day of November, 1983, the caption
of which is set out above, is amended by changing the Comprehensive Zoning Map
from Zone A (Agriculture) to Zone R-1 A (One-family Residence) affecting property as
follows:
Beginning at a point located on the northwest right-of-way line of
Markwalter Road, 273 feet, more or less, northeast of the northwest
corner of the intersection of Brown Road and Markwalter Road; thence,
in a westerly direction a distance of 1,933 feet, more or less, to a point;
thence, N 03037'35" E a distance of 551.63 feet to a point; thence, N
21056'24" E a distance of 1,023.30 feet to a point; thence, N
20026'36" E a distance of 291.26 feet to a point; thence, S 850.05'35"
E a distance of 644.30 feet to a point located on the southwest right-of-
way line of Lawrence Road; thence, in an easterly direction across
Lawrence Road a distance of 30 feet, more or less, to a point located on
the northeast right-of-way line of Lawrence Road; thence, S 85009'30"
E a distance of 306.10 feet to a point; thence, S 03040'04" W a
distance of 493.66 feet to a point located on the northeast right-of-way
line of Lawrence Road; thence, S 03040'25" W across Lawrence Road
to a point located on the southwest right-at-way line at Lawrence Road;
thence, S 03040'54" Wa distance of 196.51 feet to a point; thence, S
52054' 18" E a distance of 542.87 feet to a point located on the

northwest right-of-way line of Markwalter Road; thence, S 32053'47"
W along the northwest right-'of-way line of Markwalter Road a distance
of 95.97 feet to the point of beginning. This property contains 39.71
acres.
SECTION II. All Ordinances or parts of Ordinances in conflict with this Ordinance are
hereby repealed.
