AN ORDINANCE PROVIDING FOR THE APPOINTMENT OF
MEMBERS TO CERTAIN BOARDS AND AUTHORITIES; TO
PROVIDE QUALIFICATIONS FOR APPOINTMENT OF
MEMBERS TO CERTAIN BOARDS AND AUTHORITIES; TO
PROHIBIT APPOINTMENT TO MORE THAN ONE BOARD OR
AUTHORITY; TO PROVIDE AN EFFECTIVE DATE; TO
REPEAL CONFLICTING ORDINANCES; AND FOR OTHER
PURPOSES.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE AUGUSTA-RICHMOND COUNTY COMMISSION-
COUNCIL, AND IT IS HEREBY ORDAINED BY THE AUTHORITY OF SAME AS
FOLLOWS:
Sect ion 1 .
The Augusta-Richmond County Commission-
Council has the responsibility under the Ordinances of the City
Council of Augusta and the Ordinances of Richmond County, and
certain Acts of the General Assembly, to appoint members to certain
boards and authorities.
The Augusta-Richmond County Commission-
Council deems it to be in the best interest of the citizens of
Richmond County to prohibit anyone individual from being appointed
to more than one board or authority for which said Commission-
Council has the authority of appointment or ratifying appointments.
Section 2.
No person who is serving on a board,
commission, committee, panel, authority, or other entity appointed
by the former Board of Commissioners of Richmond County, the former

City Council of Augusta, or the Augusta-Richmond County Commission-
Council, shall while serving as such a member be appointed to any
other board, commission, committee, panel, authority, or other
entity appointed by the former Board of Commissioners of Richmond
County, the former City Council of Augusta, or the Augusta-Richmond
County Commission-Council.
Section 3. Nothing herein contained shall preclude any
person who is currently serving on more than one such board,
commission, committee, panel, authority, or other such entity, from
continuing his service as a member of such board, commission,
committee, panel, authority, or other such entity appointed by the
former Board of Commissioners of Richmond County, the former City
Council of Augusta, or the Augusta-Richmond County Commission-
Council until the end of his present term.
Section 4. It shall be the duty of any prospective
appointee to any board, commission, committee, panel, authority, or
other entity appointed by the Augusta-Richmond County Commission-
Council to disclose to the Augusta-Richmond County Commission-
Council his membership on any other board, commission, committee,
panel, authority, or other entity appointed by the former Board of
Commissioners of Richmond County, the former City Council of
Augusta, or the Augusta-Richmond County Commission-Council.
