Re: Proposal for Increase in Taxicab rates
We are collectively proposing a taxicab rate increase for Richmond County. Current
rates were established in 2004 and have remained unchanged since. However, the nation
has experienced a substantial increase in costs for supplying these services in the past few
years. Fuel and oil prices alone have experienced a 95% increase. Therefore, we
respectively request the city to approve an increase in taxicab rates that would accurately
reflect the current changes in the market. .
We are proposing the following:
An increase in drop rate of $0.25cents per call
Rate I - $1.00 to $1.25
Rate 2 - $1.75 to $2.00
Rate 3 - $2.40 to $2.65
An increase in per mile rate of $0.05cents per mile
From $0.30 per 1/6 mile to $0.35 per 1/6 mile ($2.10 per mile)
An increase in wait time of $O.05cents per minute
From $0.30 per minute to $0.35 per minute ($18.00 per hour to $21.00)
Proposed minimum fare rate of $5.00.
Proposed additional passenger fee for passengers over 4 of $1.00 per person.
