NOTICE OF INTENT
OF
THE GEORGIA DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION
TO THE APPROPRIATE LOCAL OFFICIALS
WHEREAS, the Official Code of Georgia Annotated 32-4-22 designated road corridors between
Savannah and Augusta to be a component of the Governor's Road Improvement Program; and
WHEREAS, these road corridors are duly identified in the aforementioned Official Code of
Georgia code section as the "Savannah River Parkway;" and
WHEREAS, the Georgia Department of Transportation (hereinafter called the Department) is in
the final stages of completing the construction of all segments of this Parkway; and
WHEREAS, after due consideration the Department shall use the duly established road names,
"Savannah River Parkway" and "Savannah River Parkway Spur" to formally identify to local
communities and the travelling public the roadways described herein this Notice and as shown
on the attached sketch map.
NOW THEREFORE, in the public interest, the Commissioner of the Georgia Department of
Transportation, under the authority vested in his pursuant to the laws of the State of Georgia,
does hereby serve notice of his intention to approve an Order thirty days from receipt by you of
this notice and by which Order that the State Highway System be signed as described in the
following paragraphs.

Sign as the "Savannah River Parkway" State Route 121/ U.S. Route 25 beginning in
Augusta at its interchange with 1-520 and extending to its junction with State Route 121
BypasslU.S. Route 25 Bypass north of Waynesboro; then along the State Route 121
BypasslU.S. Route 25 Bypass around the east side of Waynesboro to its junction with State
Route 1211U.S. Route 25; then along State Route 121/ U.S. Route 25 to its junction with
State Route 21 north of Millen; then along State Route 21 to its junction with State Route
73 LooplU.S. Route 301 west of Sylvania; then along State Route 73 LooplU.S. Route 301
to its junction with State Route 21; then along State Route 21 through Newington,
Springfield, Rincon ending at the State Route 21/Interstate 95 interchange in Savannah.

Sign as the "Savannah River Parkway Spur" State Route 121/ U.S. Route 25 beginning at
its junction with State Route 21 north of Millen and continuing to its intersection with State
Route 17, 17 Bypass, 21, and 23 in Millen; then along State Route 17 Bypass, 23, 67, and
121/U.S. Route 25 to its junction with State Route 17 Bypass; then along State Route 23,
67, and 121/U.S. Route 25 to its junction with State Route 23; then along State Route 67
and 121/U.S. Route 25 to its junction with State Route 121; then along State Route 67/US
Route 25 to its junction with State Route 67 Bypass/US 25 Bypass; then along State Route
67 Bypass/U.S. Route 25 Bypass to its junction with State Route 73/US Route 25; then
along State Route 73/US Route 25 to the Interstate 16 interchange.
The foregoing descriptions are in conformity with sketch map 3520 and plans for both the EDS-
555 and EDS-565 projects series appearing in the files of the Department of which a copy ofthe
sketch map is attached for reference.
