Dear Mr. Oliver
Enclosed is a permit to cover use of our property on the levee between
Eighth and Ninth Streets during the period July 3-4, 1998, for the the Riverfront
4th Celebration. This permit needs to be signed by an authorized representative
of AUGUSTA-RICHMOND COUNTY.
We have received your letter of February 24, 1998 assuming any and all
public liability risks against Southeastern Newspapers Corporation through your
Risk Management Program during this period.
Please have this permit executed in duplicate and return one copy to me.
prior to the date of your event. It can be mailed to P. O. Box 936 or faxed to
me at 706/722-7125.
We hope your event will be a big success.

PERMIT
SOUTHEASTERN NEWSPAPERS CORPORATION (hereinafter "SENC")
hereby authorizes ADGUS'l'A-RICHIfOND COUNTY (hereinafter "User") to
use its property on the levee between Eighth and Ninth streets in
Augusta, Georgia (more particularly described in Exhibit "A")
during the period JULY 3-4, ~998 upon the following terms:
1. User recognizes that this property is not inspected or
maintained by SENC and may contain hazards to User and its guests.
User assumes all risk of personal injury or property damage which
may be suffered on the premises by User, its guests, employees or
agents or any member of the public during the permit period.
Further, User hereby AGREES TO HOLD HARMLESS SENC, its successors
and assigns, from any loss of any nature (including reasonable
attorneys' fees) from any occurrence during the permit period on or
involving the premises, whether or not caused or contributed to by
the negligence of SENC, its agents or employees.
2. User shall through its Risk Management Program be
responsible for any and all claims, and any and all costs and
expenses incurred including but not limited to reasonable
attorneys' fees, losses, damages or liability asserted against

EXHIBIT "All
ALL that property in the city of Augusta, Richmond County,
Georgia, on the levee of the Savannah Ri ver between Eighth and
Ninth Streets, and being more particularly described as the
property shown on a plat prepared by Joe L. Grant on November 14,
1983, which plat is attached to a deed recorded in the Office of
the Clerk of superior Court for Richmond county, Georgia, in Realty
Reel 173, pages 1652-1654, and the property shown on a plat
prepared by M. P. Phillips, C.E., on June 14, 1949, recorded in
said Clerk's office in Realty Book 17-A, page 461.
