ORDER OF THE COMMISSIONER
OF
THE GEORGIA DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION
TO THE COMl\1ISSIONERS OF RICHMOND COUNTY.
WHEREAS, the Georgia Department of Transportation (hereinafter called the Department) is
planning to construct a new roadway along the west side of State Route 232 between Scott
Nixon Memorial Drive and 1-520 under Project NH-Thf-520-1(15); and
WHEREAS, to accommodate preconstruction activities for this project, it will be necessary to
add the proposed section of roadway, as shown on the attached sketch map, to the State
Highway System as State Route 1097 until construction is completed; and
WHEREAS, Richmond has executed a resolution agreeing to accept for ownership,
maintenance, utility accommodation, and as part of their local road system, State Route 1097 as
described herein, when removed from the State Highway System.
NOW THEREFORE, in the public interest, the Commissioner of the Georgia Department of
Transportation, under the authority vested in him pursuant to the laws of the State of Georgia,
does hereby order and direct that the State Highway System be revised as described in the
following paragraphs.
(1) Add to the State Highway System a section of projected alignment, to be designated as
State Route 1097 until constructed, beginning at its point of junction with County Road
1319 and extending northwesterly to its point of junction with Scott Nixon Memorial
Drive (County Road 1506).
Addition of approximately 0.10 mile (0.16 km) projected,
The foregoing descriptions are in conformity with sketch map 3350 and plans for Project NH-
IM-520-1 (15) appearing in the files of the Georgia Department of Transportation of which a
copy of the sketch map is attached for reference.
