A~ENDMENT
STATE OF GEORGIA
COUNTY OF FULTON
AMENDMENT TO ARTICLES OF AGREEMENT
THIS AMENDMENT to an Agreement for Project Grant No. NRT-96(5).1 dated the 20th
day of September, in the year Nineteen Hundred Ninety-six (1996), made and entered into this
StL day of~e/l)~ , 2000, by and between the Department of Natural Resources
(hereinafter DEPARTMENT), whose address is 205 Butler Street, S. E., Suite 1352, Atlanta,
Georgia 30334, acting for and on behalf of the State of Georgia, and Augusta-Richmond County
Commission-Council, (hereinafter referred to as the GRANTEE), wnose adoress is 530 Greene
Street, Rm 801, Augusta, Georgia 30511.
WITNESSETH:
WHEREAS, the purpose of the original agreement between the parties was for new trail
construction and bike lane, development of new handicapped ramps and trail-side or trail head
facilities at New Bartram Trail; and
WHEREAS, the DEPARTMENT allocated grant funds in the amount of THIRTY
THOUSAND DOLLARS ($30,000) from the Georgia Recreational Trails Fund to assist the
GRANTEE with the above project; and
WHEREAS, due to other funds needed to complete the project, the GRANTEE has been
unable to proceed with the recreational improvements as specified in the ARTICLES OF
AGREEMENT; and
WHEREAS, the GRANTEE has made a request to the DEP AR TMENT to extend the grant
period from June 30, 1998 to June 30, 2001;
NOW, THEREFORE, in consideration of the request from the GRANTEE and the premises,
conditions and convenants set forth in the original AGREEMENT, the parties agree to amend said
AGREEMENT as follows:
1) The Project period shall retroactively be amended from June 30, 1998 to
June 30, 2001;
2) The GRANTEE and DEPARTMENT mutually agree that all other terms and
conditions of the original agreement shall be and remain in full force and effect.
IN WITNESS WHEREOF, the parties hereto have executed this AMENDMENT, to be given
effect as the day and year first above written.
