Dear Ms. Darris:
The purpose of this letter is to set forth the compensation for employment with Augusta as
Equal Employment Coordinator. Ratification of the final offer of employment is subject to
Commission approval. The following parameters have been discussed.
COMPENSATION: The annual rate of compensation will be $ 66,862.78 per
year, payable in installments at the same times as other employees of Augusta.
Compensation shall be reviewed annually and increases for cost-of-living
adjustments provided consistent with other Augusta employees. Merit increases,
if any, shall be based upon performance and commensurate with those given
other management employees, subject to the financial condition of Augusta.
Employment shall start December 11, 2006. You will serve a twelve month
probationary period; however, you are an at-will employee during the term of
your employment.
MOVING EXPENSES: Employee shall be reimbursed or employer may agree to
pay directly for the expense for (1) temporary housing, not to exceed 30 days, (2)
packing and moving himself, his family and his personal property from Atlanta to
Augusta and (3) a lump sum payment of $1000 to cover miscellaneous moving
expenses, with said payment or reimbursement not to exceed in total the sum of
$5,000 which shall include unpacking, any storage costs necessary and
insurance charges.
PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT: Augusta shall budget and pay for
reasonable travel and subsistence expenses of the Employee for professional
and official travel, meetings and occasions necessary to continue the
professional development of the Employee. The budget is subject to advance
approval by the Commission.
DUES AND SUBSCRIPTION: Augusta agrees to budget and to pay for the
professional dues and subscriptions of Employee necessary for his continuation
and participation in national, regional, state and local associations and
organizations necessary and desirable for his continued professional
participation, growth and advancement, and for the good of the Employer. The
budget is subject to advance approval by the Administrator.

OTHER BENEFITS: Employee shall be provided all other benefits
(health, dental, life, and pension) afforded to employees of Augusta with
at least five (5) years of service, which includes the accrual of 1.5 days of
vacation per month.
Should you resign from your position with Augusta during the first two-(2) years of
employment, you will repay Augusta a prorated amount of the total amount paid by
Augusta for moving expenses. Augusta will compute this amount on the basis of a
fraction times the total amount paid for moving expenses. The numerator of the fraction
is the number of months remaining during the initial twenty-four (24) months of
employment and the denominator is 24-months. In the event, however, you should
resign within the first six months of your employment, you will repay the total amount
paid by Augusta for moving expenses.
If the terms of this offer are agreeable to you, please note your acceptance below.
Please note, however, acceptance of this offer does not constitute a contract of
employment. Further, this letter shall not constitute a contract or an agreement for
employment for any specific time period, such employment being subject to the
Personnel Policies and Procedures of Augusta, Georgia. If you have questions, please
