Beck Director FROM: Mr. Gary Swint, Director of Augusta Public Library Tom Beck, Director of Recreation and Parks Department RE: Shared cost of Diamond Lakes Community Center and Library This letter will confirm the cost and payment schedule of the following shared expense items, as approved by the Augusta Commission on February 3, 2002, for Diamond Lakes Community Center/ Library. Sweep and vacuuming 2. Empty trashcans and replace bags 3. Oean desk, tables and doors 4. Oean restrooms and replenish supplies 5. Oean drinking fountains 6. Oean entrance porches and all floor mats 7. Pick up trash inside and outside around entrance of building 8. Empty book return box 9. Mopping of bathrooms and entrance Weekly Responsibilities' 1. Dusting and polishing of all fIXtures and furniture 2. Sweep and blowing of the walkways and parking lots Bi- weekly Responsibilities 1. Wash windows and door glass Monthly Responsibilities 1. Wipe down walls 2. Cl1eckAlCfdters (change if necess~ Quarterly Responsibilities 1. Buffing and waxing of the floors Miscellaneous Responsibilities 1. Perform minor repairs as needed (light bulbs, IN AC filterS) 2. Setting up tables and chairs for meetings as assigned (24 hour notice) 3. Coordinating repairs or other services needed by contractors or agencies unable to be performed by custodian. Library will be billed for these services. Estimated time on daily responsibilities at Library 3 hours per day: Cost $9.50/ per hour x 3 = $28.50 Daily ="6 days/week $8,607.00 annual1y(paid by Jan 15) ::.5 days/week $7,125.00 annually *deducts 11 holidays per year Note: Recreation and Parks will purchase <l: commercial floor buffing machine, and the Library will purchase a commercial vacuum cleaner. All other equipment would be supplied by Recreation and Parks. Janitorial supplies( toilet paper, soap, windex, papertowels, etc.) will be purchased by the Library and will supply it's own inventory. Exhibit B Grounds :Maintenance Services - Diamond Lakes G>Inmunity Center/Library Augusta Recreation and Parks will perform the following grounds maintenance tasks to provide the necessary upkeep to enhance the appearance of the landscape at the jointly developed propeny: *Oltting, trimming and edging of all grassed areas *Trimming of hedges *Collection and disposal of trash *Weeding of beds *Fertilization, pesticide and herbicide treatments *Replacement of ground cover (pine straw, mulch, etc.) *Sweeping of parking lots All labor, equipment, materials and supplies to be provided by Recreation and Parks. Cost: Labor. 1040 man hours/year x $12.50/hour = :Materials and supplies: (fueL fertilizer, mulch, herbicides, dumpster) $14,560.00 2.821.00 $17,381.00 $ 5,214.00 30% cost to Library: Note: Above based on two employees, ten hours per week (average). Dumpster is $135/month.
